Ever made it to the shot seat in WWTBAM?

If you made it to the hot seat, here's my question for you: were you guessing in the fastest finger, or playing for real?

I haven't but I just wanted to say that I love the name of your thread title! "Shot Seat" I'm sure that some of those that have made it feel like that's what it is when they don't know the answer!

I was playing for real. But I didn't get in on the first fastest finger. I was the one chosen from the top of the list when the first lady missed.

My ex though has gotten into the hot seat twice by playing for real on fastest finger.

I didn't but my DH did. He got in by having the highest score after the guy in front of him got out. My DH got out on the $500,000 question.

Both DH & DS have gotten to the hot seat on the fastest finger. They both did it by just basically pushing all the buttons at the same time.

Once I figured out what the heck I was doing I have been able to get into the Hot (shot) seat every trip since. (4X's) LOL

Always did the "easy" way by getting the answers right and in the fastest time. I made it the fastest finger way once and here is what I have learned.

Whatever you do, do NOT stop to think, if you do some two year old will have already beaten you. Start hitting any old letter as fast as you can and the second it lights up hit the rest of the buttons as fast as you can.

Now if that is too hard just remember the 'easy' way. If the audience is sparse and heavily filled with small children it greatly increases your odds.

The hard part is once you get seated in the Hot "Shot" seat. Then all brain activity ceases and it is luck. I hope that one of these days I will luck out and they will ask me all questions I know. Til then I will wish upon a star!!

I am not exactly sure what you are asking but will try to answer anyway.

The Fastest Finger is completely seperate from the main game and each time a new player gets into the Hot Seat the game starts all over again also.(start from 0 points) Usually only two players make each session so you can have 3-4 chances to get in accordingly.

i always thought fastest finger accuracy was factored into your overall score... Next time I'm there!

Accuracy is factored in! Being selected after having randomly pressed buttons quickly is purely luck. Taking the time to think about the answer is hardly any better since with so many people pressing randomly, several will luck out and get the right combination. Pick your poison and swipe over the buttons in one motion keeping your fingers crossed.

For the first game, I've made it into the hot seat by picking the random numbers and for the second one I've made it into the hot seat by playing for real.

I'm from the UK the fastest finger question was Put these baseball teams in order East to West, The lady behaind me said I know nothing about baseball, I turned and said I've got no chance I'm from England we don't even play baseball. Next thing I know my seat number is flashing!!! When the compere found out I was English he said 'shame on you Americans an English girl beat you all on a baseball question' , I felt I had to be honest and said 'I just guessed', He said 'No REALLY!' I figure they know luck plays a big part in fastest finger!
I would also like to say that the audience reaction, not just during but all day afterwards in the park, was so special So many people congratulated me on my performance. That would never happen in the UK.

I am pretty shy and I never wanted to get into the hotseat. My husband usually gets in the hotseat each trip.
I got into the hotseat on the fastest finger question. The question was... put these continents in order from the most to the least populated. I punched my answers in quickly...too quickly... and I made it into the hotseat.
Actually, it turned out to be really fun. I made it up to the $250,000 question.

DH got in once.. it was great fun! He was playing for real and got the highest score!!
The worst thing was that our son was just about 2 and was playing up, so I took him out. Suddenly a cast member came running after me and said that DH was in the hot seat and I needed to come back!! It was so exciting!!

Its a shame though as us Brits find the pop culture questions quite hard as we dont know so many of your actors and advertising slogans and sports stars....
US history and geography.. my husband would give any american a run for their money on, but pop culture... tricky.. he got out at 16000 after the 3rd question in the category!

I enjoy the attraction but I have a good friend who is truly addicted to the attraction. He has been on the hot seat ten times. I asked him about fastest finger and he told me that he has only made it to the hot seat once on a fastest finger question. There is a great deal of luck involved because a large number of people are pushing the buttons at random. The time he made it, he knew the answer and was lucky enough to be fast enough to get his answer in first.

I made it! It wasn't on fastest fingers, I was at the top of the list when the person before me missed a question. That was awesome! I jumped out of my chair and said "that's me! that's me!" I had read a tip on here that said as soon as you know the answer, just start pushing the button, don't wait. That's how I did it. The Regis guy had to keep telling me to push my hat back so they could see my face, and I'll never forget the answer to the question I missed.

we always go in a big group, so each person is assigned an code for the fastest finger. if you have a group of 12, you have half of the possible answers assigned to one family member. i have had gotten on 3 times in one day! but sadly you can only go down once and i didn't so hot (i ran out of time), but my mom won 64,000 pts!

I didnt make it on fastest finger. I ddnt even make it by being high scorer.

I was second, but the guy who was first was ineligible (I think he had won a cruise earlier in the week) so I got in.

I have made it to the Hot Seat 4 times - once via the fastest finger (and I wasn't guessing on the order) and three times by being in the number 1 spot when they needed a new contestant. I have never gone all of the way, but I have quite a collection of pins, hats and shirts!

As has been said... there is a lot of luck involve with FF. If you want to maximize your chances, go to the first show of the day. It generally has the smallest audience.
