Ever leave anything in your room?

hahahahahahahah :teeth:

I once left my purse in the room when I checked out....but I realized it just a few minutes later and returned to the room. The housekeeper had already notified the front desk to have it sent to me! I was very happy that it would not have been a disaster if I hadn't remembered just moments later that I had left it.

We did leave our favorite baby blanket in the bed at BWV in May....it was soooo soft. I assumed that it would either find its way back to us, or that it went through the laundry and they wouldn't be able to get it back...so I didn't call about it. Also, I think it was about a week after we got home that I realized it hadn't come home with us, and it hit me exactly where I had left it. I knew I could buy a new one for $10 so I wasn't too worried. We never did replace it though....we have so many other baby blankets.

If I've ever left anything else I never missed it! LOL

Boy you almost have my name and my sense of humor too! It's just so frustrating knowing exactly where you left something and like other Disney magic, poof! It disappeared. ): Oh well, that'll teach me that everyone doesn't have the same happy Disney thoughts (I still think housekeeping). Thanks for your good thoughts everyone and for those who lost even more important things (cameras, kids' teddy bears), how could anyone do that?? It's just beyond me.

DH left his razor and beard trimmer at BWV last August. He realized it when we arrived at Vero Beach and called the BW. They mailed it home and it got there the day we did.

DH once left his weddind ring sit on the nightstand in our stateroom on the Disney Wonder. Thank god housekeeping was honest enough to turn it in to lost and found and the even paid to ship it to us. There are some good/honest people out there!!

We left a drawer full of clothes several years ago when we had to leave VB DVC in a hurry. They called us before we even realized they were missing and sent them back to us by FedEx.

On another occasion last year, I left my DVC "Members Are Magical" hat behind at the California Grill. I know that I left it on my chair to take a picture and forgot to pick it up. I called the CG and Lost and Found the next day before we left, but no joy. No one had turned it in. :(

My daughter left her plush Minnie doll in our room at the All Star Resort on our last day at Disney last October. I realized this while we were at the Character Breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table! Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time to realize something like that. Of course I wanted to call the hotel back right away but had to wait until i got outside. We ended up going back to the hotel to pick up the rental car later in the day and housekeeping had found Minnie and a manager brought her to us. Needless to say my daughter and I were very happy to see Minnie returned!

My valet-challenged hubby insisted we could pack the car ourselves at VWL one year. The two of us made innumerable trips back and forth to the car (alternating with staying in the room to watch our 3 kids). One would pack while the other would haul, then switch off. FINALLY -- right at the 11 am hour, and with housekeeping having knocked on the door at least 3 times, we got the job done and hit the road.

HOWEVER...

About 5 hours into our drive, I go searching for a tylenol and can't find my pharmaceuticals bag. Strange, I think -- why, that whole duffel that I keep all those sorts of things -- cosmetics, meds, jewelry -- seems oddly empty.... OMG. DH never emptied the bathroom drawer! (And sadly -- I never looked. I saw the bag and "assumed" it was packed... and we all know what happens when you "assume".) We arrive at our pit-stop (my sister's house) with me in a panic. We made all sorts of calls to WL management, L&F, housekeeping. By nightfall, I was told that they had found our "stuff" and it would all be shipped to my home address. A few days later, the box arrived. It contained everything I could think of, off the top of my head -- and even minute things I had forgotten about, like cotton balls, or silly things, like an empty gum wrapper and a such! And then I noticed something -- no ring, no earrings. A matched set of opal mosaic earrings and a ring were missing. Hmmm. Perhaps I just didn't take them? After all, they returned my heavy gold necklace, my good watch, other stuff certainly more valuable / sellable -- whatever. Why those things? I searched all over, but became increasingly convinced they were gone. Furthermore, a Clinique compact -- virtually new -- was gone as well.

I admit it -- I even surfed Ebay for a while, thinking perhaps the confiscator might try to make a buck. But I guess whomever has them loves them as much as I did. I still have the lovely pendant that matches them -- sometimes I think I hear it crying (or maybe that's just me.... they were my favorites!) I never go to Disney now that some part of me isn't scanning the horizons for a woman with Clinique "Ivory Bisque" complexion sporting an opal mosaic ring & earrings.

Needless to say, on our last trip to WDW, I took darn little jewelry, and those bathroom drawers got checked 50 times at least! :)

Sorry for your loss -- I feel your pain. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm406' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_9_17v.gif' alt='Tears' border=0></a>

I called lost and found again yesterday, I just wanted to make the point that it isn't like I don't know where I left my necklace, I know EXACTLY where I left it and said basically I think they need to talk to their housekeeping staff because as far as I'm concerned, that's where it went. Yes, I know it was my fault, I should have been more careful, yes in the future I will be, but, it's just frustrating.

Phantom regiment - drum corps huh? My brother-in-law and his brother have been active drum corpsers (?) for years and years now! They still march as seniors with the Golden Knights here in NJ.

We left a couple of golf jackets in the coat closet at VWL once. I called housekeeping, and they were returned very quickly. I've learned not to use that closet for anything in the future. Just not a place I remember to check when leaving.

When ever we are checking out of a hotel DVC icluded. We all check room from top to bottom. We learned our lessson when ds lost a stuffed snake he loved.Never returned.
My neise thinks i am crazy.I made her look under beds etc.minutes after I did.

Yep, Drum Corp fans here! The sweatshirt that was left behind at OKW was one of their really nice embroidered ones, so it wasn't a cheapie. Thing was, we got to MCO and called OKW right away and it was never returned.

OK We took an Areo Bed and lost the yellow pillowcase that came with the bed. We called the next day , took about 4 calls to lost and found to speak to anyone. Never got it back how hard was it to spot a yelllow pillowcase in a sea of white linens

i left a laptop, cell and pda in my breif case on the bed at BWV and checked out. called from airport. they sent it to my office. no sweat.

we lost DS's blood sugar meeter (type 1 diabetic we travel with 2 of them). lost and found found the exact model in MK, it christmas/newyears and couldn't get to central lost & found cause park was closed due to crowds. BWV sent their car but it wasn't DS's so we sent it back (Had stayed at Dolfin over weekend and they had it.)

all our experiances with lost & found have been great. Disney service is outstanding and our experiance with Lost & found is they are great too.

Don't give up hope. I left a watch in a room at OKW. Went to the desk after checking out, no luck. They did take my name. About two weeks later, after I had pretty much given up hope, I received a package in the mail, and there was my watch! No note or letter, just the watch. Makes you wonder.

We forgot several things at BWV and because we went from there to London it took me probably two weeks to call about them - but they had them & shipped them back to me at no charge. I was impressed.

There is a possibility that Housekeeping did not even see the necklace and the next guest did. I mean we all know Housekeeping lately is good at missing the things they are suppose to be looking for, like dirty carpets. I know this can happen because we left something at OKW before and it was found in the villa days after the next guests had checked in.

For any future guests, I think it is easier to leave things behind in a DVC villa than a standard hotel room so we type up a quick inventory of things we would really hate to lose and do a quick check off before leaving the resort.

This thread reminds me of the Cast Member Property Control behind Magic Kingdom. You would not believe the lost belongings that turn up there. There are tons of camera batteries, cameras, sunglasses, strollers of every make, even PACIFIERS! who is going to buy one of those! Shoes, clothes, hats, watches, rings, necklaces, fanny packs, just about everything you can imagine. I just wonder how all these things get left behind. You can't help feeling bad when you see a teddy bear, you know some child went home very disappointed! Cast Members and theirs guests can buy it for 75% off of retail, although I don't know that THAT is even a bargain for some of it!

I left my brand new (from Castaway Cay) mickey ear sarong at the Poly and when I got home I called and got the run around from housekeeping, so I called Disney customer service and I got $20 Disney Dollars to replace it on my next visit, which I happily did!!

You're right, I know I have to just "let it go." I pled my case to BCV lost and found and if it ever shows up, I'll certainly give credit to whom it's due. Thanks for your support everyone. People have certainly lost more important things than my (sigh) pretty silver necklace .
