Ever Kept It a Secret?

Your wife is a lucky gal! Good for you to have thought this thing through and to add such cute little details (choc mint :)) I am sure she will not only remember the cruise as being special but how much effort you put into it:)

Thank Goodness for this Board!

Booked last April, for January 2003! Doing 3 day land/4 day sea!

So far DD hasn't a clue! Managed to cover up slips by booking another trip just to FLA in April!LOL Since I booked with Disney, they won't tell me anything until 30 days out!

DD thinks I'm a witch 'cause she's not having a birthday party this year especially since it's on a Saturday! Bad Mommy!LOL

Just this morning she's got the restaurant planned for our "family do" It's hard keeping a straight face sometimes!LOL

Is it January Yet???????

I have booked the land/sea pkg for 1/5-1/12 4 days at the BCR then to the Wonder! I booked a cat. 6 on deck 6- I need air! I plan on putting the DCL video( if it ever arrives- I requested it back in Aug.!) in a box under the Christmas tree. He has been asking to go to WDW for months now and we just tell him we can't the time off from work! He will be so excited ! Anyone know how to request the video other than the online form? My DU agent said they can't get it. I can't believe it would take 4 months to send it out! Any other suggestions on how to surprise him if it doesn't arrive ontime for Christmas? Thanks

We are surprising our DD11 and DS8 with a 7 day Disney Cruise for Christmas. We don't leave until Jan. 24 so that will give them time enjoy the anticipation. Im wrapping up swim suits, shorts, summer dresses, Disney dollars and a cruise video. Some of our best friends are going and their youngest daughter is our daughters best friend, we are not telling the kids that they are going, we are just going to wait and listen for the "what I got for Christmas" phone conversation. Im almost as excited for Christmas as I am for the trip, they will be so shocked, they are always saying "I wish we could go on a Disney cruise" and Dad always says " they are way to expensive". We sailed RCL a couple summers ago and were next to DCL. we all stood their looking at the beautiful Disney ship, so ever since they have wanted to go DCL.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

In 2001 when we went to WDW (6 days) and the cruise (4 days), WDW (2 days) - we booked in February for Sep/2001. At the end of school we told the kids about the WDW part, but saved the cruise for a surprise. They thought we were going to the Airport, but instead we arrived at the port. The kids were soooooooooooooooo excited to see the Magic (we did the 7 day the year before). Our only regret is we didn't have it on video. We were supposed to surprise them again for the 2 days extra but due to 9/11 told ahead of time instead of pretending again to be on our way home.

Last year, I decided to book the Dec 7 - Western and surprise all of my family, however, I then changed it to RCCL - Voyageur of The Seas for Jan 19/03. I was going to give it to them all for a Hanumas (Hanukah/Christmas) gift. However in October I started worrying that DH, might be a little upset that I had spent so much money, that I decided to tell him before I put the final payment down. I am glad I did as he is now taking his PADI certification, so that he can have a dive on our cruise. The kids are going to still get it on Christmas day! This time we will catch it on video. They are dying to go on the Voyageur of The Seas, even though they loved The Magic, but they are looking forward to in-line skating, skating, rock climbing, and mini-golf. I can't wait to see their reaction!

My husband & I kept our Oct. Wonder cruise a secret from the kids. We went on the Magic in Jan & got the $99 cruise on the Wonder. We scheduled & never said anything to the kids. They thought we were taking a short trip to the beach! On the way from the airport to the ship, we passed TONS of DCL buses which we used in our plan. We told the kids that the ship must be at port & would they like to see it again. They jumped at the chance to see it (ages 4 & 8).

We parked at the chain link fence that goes around the water & hopped out of the car. We let the kids drool & then said, "would you guys like to go on that boat?" They of course said, "YES"! Then we said, "surprise, we have tickets & we're getting on". My 8 year old did not believe us & I had to show him the tickets. They jumped up & down for about 5 minutes.

It was awesome!
