I figured this was a rumor only - but since I have started telling people about my trip, the story has been coming up again. People around here keep saying that Disney bought a huge spot of land in between Forney and Terrell Texas in order to do a new park here between DL and WDW. Anyone here heard anything about that? I was wondering what the background was on that and how that story got started. I remember hearing something about it last year, too.

Where are the towns of Forney and Terrell?

What happened to Memorial City down in Houston? That was on another thread I read here.

I don't really believe any of these type rumors without some sort of proof (although they are fun). Shouldn't there be a way to verify these transaction? I know all real estate purchases are recorded at the court house.

I guess they all have agents or something.

I would think there would have to be some record. I just never know what to say because it sounds so unreal to me, but don't have any way to prove it or know what caused the story to come up in the first place.

Disney could buy land with the idea of developing it. They wouldn't have to have anything specific in mind. They can always sell it off it nothing develops. :earsboy:

Remember there not only in the amusment park business there in the community develop business as well. Need I remind you of Celebration.

Yea, but they seemed to have given up on the idea of building communities. I don't think Celebration turned out the way they planned. I guess Walt would have been the one with the foresight to do it right, and without his guidance, I don't think they were able to pull it off properly. That what I think, anyway.
