Hello I was just wondering if anybody has heard of or tried products from Melaleuca.

Yep, I've heard of them. Reminded me of Amway. Inferior products, plus they try to make you join their group and sell the products yourself. Kind of like a pyramid company.

Gee I haven't posted here in a while!
Actually, I have heard of and use Melaleuca products. I too was wary of the Amway type of deal, but once my friend gave me some of their things to try I fell in love with it.
Their Renew hand lotion is the only thing I have ever used that has helped my super dry skin, and the rashes I always get on my upper arms.
Their laundry detergent is great, and smells wonderful, and I use the oil itself for bad cuts, etc. and they heal right up.
So yes, I was one of those people that hated things like this, never ever wanted to join or buy any of the products, but once I started using them I stopped having her buy them for me and just joined and I love their things. (we only use the toothpaste, laundry detergent and dryer sheets, lotion, soap and oil)

My mom got sucked into it by a "friend" and while this was 5 years ago, we HAD to buy $30 worth of overpriced CRAP each month. The soap STUNK and the toothpaste was in such a small tube and tasted terrible. And I recently read that melaleuca is a weed, not sure if that's true. I would not get involved.

We've been using the products for about 5 years. I found it to be a very ethical company. It is not a pyramid. I don't refer customers anymore, but I am still a customer myself and I love all of their products. Especially the home care products (cleaning, laundry, dish).

Even though I haven't touched the business side of it one single bit for the past 3 years, I still get a small check every month! :) If you decide you want to build a business, you can pm me - I have a helpful web link I can direct you to (it is not affiliated with any one group or team, it just has very helpful info).

PS - when they say their products have a money back guarantee, they mean it. If you end up not liking it, just send it back! No questions asked.

I used it years ago. It got to be way too expensive.

The melaleuca tree is a pest, at least in Florida. I don't know about the company. Here's a clip from another site:

In Florida, however, melaleuca is a pest, especially in the Everglades and surrounding areas, where the trees grow into immense forests, virtually eliminating all other vegetation. Melaleuca grows in terrestrial as well as in completely aquatic situations. The Everglades, the mostly treeless "river of grass", in some places has become the "river of trees", a completely alien habitat to the plants and animals that have evolved to live in the glades. During the 50 years since its introduction into the state, melaleuca has taken over hundreds of thousands of acres of Everglades, threatening the very existence of this internationally known eco-treasure.

i have been using them for quite awhile..i have allergies and they helped me significantly....i could list a handful of products that i will not go without...i have had friends sign up and they love it too!! The people in this company are good people.there is no pyramid scheme...and i highly recommend you try them...heck you have 90 days if you dont like them you get all your money back..

I'm surprised that people feel that their products are inferior. I absolutely loved everything I tried. I just couldn't justify the cost, and I couldn't keep up with the minimum product I had to buy each month.

As to the business side of it...it didn't work out for me. We have several natural food/product stores and the local grocery stores have expanded natural sections. I couldn't find anyone who was interested in joining. I can't blame them. You can buy natural cleaning product cheaper locally and don't have to pay shipping.

If you know people willing to join, and expense isn't an issue, they have great products.

sounds like Kudzu :rotfl:

My parents have been using them for a long time now. We always loved them. The ointment for cuts and scrapes is the best I have ever found. Takes the pain right away. My DH is allergic to it though, he breaks out easily.I get the things I like through my mom. They also came out with some energy bars. I don't remember the name of them but we both really like them. Its not for everyone, but I have found they do stand behind their products if you don't like them.

i used to use their products a lot and found many that i liked. the laundry detergent and the nicole miller cosmetics are very good! a good friend of my family is the 2nd highest seller in their company, he's been written up in magazines and won awards.. anyway he's making MILLIONS! i just wasn't good at the selling end, but there is certainly money to make if you really want to. their money back guarantee is very good, return stuff without any hassle. but i'd always forget to place my order then they'd send me stuff i didn't want, so i stopped my membership. i say go for it and try it out, you really can't get burned.. and when and if you decide to stop using their products they don't try to hard sell you into staying.

We started using their products a couple of years ago and would not go back. Some things are more expensive, but you also use less of many of them. We really like the dishwasher detergent, the dish soap, laundry detergent and dryer sheets. The products are not "chemically" and with kids with allergies they have made a big difference. Their cleansers (all purpose, window, bath) are concentrate so you mix with water. DD uses the acne products, DH uses the soaps and we all use the toothpaste. Their dental floss is amazing...very smooth and easy to use. The Sol U Mel gets out about everything. We've just adapted our purchasing habits and while it is a little more expensive, we do not have to do our "Target" runs as often (less chance for those impulse buys!)
