Ever have Buyer's Remorse?

I'm suffering from a bad case of it.

I bought myself a KitchenAide Mixer. I've wanted one for ages.

I stalked all the stores for the best price. I had a choice of a $50 GC to a store of my choice thru by bank rewards. So it was like $50 coupon.

The best deal I thought was Bath, Bath and Beyond. All said and done I got the Artisan Mixer for $250 OOP.

I still want the mixer. But I'm tempted to buy the Classic for only $199. I'd save myself $150.

*decisions*decisions*:scared:

If you've got the money, I say go with the one you've always wanted! It's nice to splurge on yourself every once & awhile!

They really hold up well so go with the one you love...over the course of 15-20 years the price difference won't really matter.

Right. KA mixers are darn reliable. I'Ve had mine for about 20 years and had no problems with it, ever. $150 over 20 years is not a lot. Go for it!

No buyers remorse here. I'm like you, I shop and shop and shop on a purchase that big, then take 6 months to think about it. Usually by the time I finally buy it, I have buyers let down, because I should have bought it 6 months earlier.
Only exception is a big screen TV. Been looking for 5 years, and seems like a lot of folks who did buy 5 years ago spent a lot more than they are going for now, AND are having to replace the TVs they bought have already died. Guess I will wait until my 16 year old tube TV died and I have to replace it.

I think I am missing something. You paid 250 for the artesian but the classic is 199 (with coupon?tax?) that is only a 50.00 difference. Even if that is without the coupon and brings the price to 149.99 that is 100.00.

Now I am not sure what the difference between the machines is but it sounds like your satisfaction with your purchase has already decreased and likely will decline even more the longer you have to think about alternative uses for the money.

enjoy whichever one you bought! I love mine and use it so often, it sits on my counter (plus its really heavy!). I have had it forever, feels like it anyway, and it has held up and still looks brand new. Enjoy!!

You should be able to return it if you really regret it.

I have a used one I bought about 10 years ago. I'm not sure how old it was when I got it, I'm guessing from the 80's. That thing is still going stong! I don't use it very often now, but love it when I do!

I'm going with the "get what you wanted side." I don't know all the models, but about 3 years ago we got the cheapest model Kitchenaid we could find. Hubby insisted I "needed" one. I'm assuming it's the Classic you are referring to. I was very unimpressed. It's no better than the cheaper (about $80) stand mixer I'd gotten from Walmart several years before. I was baking 2 days ago and told him I now realize what I really needed is the bigger, more powerful one, where the bowl doesn't twist onto the bottom. It has a little thing that it slides or clips (or whatever) into. I have a heck of a time sometimes getting the bowl off of the mixer off. That day I had to have him get it off :sad2: So, again, go with what you wanted. Buyers remorse stinks, but I find it even worse when you realize you settled for something lesser because you wanted to save the money... and if you bought what you originally wanted you'd be fine. I happened to get online and see a good deal for the one I want yesterday, so I bought it! I'll sell my other one to help make up the cost ;)

Update on my buyers remorse.

I took the Mixer back. But on the way out I checked the price again and Lo and behold there was a $50 rebate attached to the purchase.

The next morning with another 20% off coupon I went back and purchased and already sent in for my $50 rebate.

In the end with the 20% off, my bank reward GC and the rebate my total cash total pay out will be $204. Not bad for a Kitchen Aide Mixer with an original price tags of $349.00(before taxes).

Now I'm satisfied and can enjoy my mixer with no regrets!

If you have a Sams Club card I just bought my daughter the Professional series with 5 qt bowl for $200 after rebate. It is $250 with free shipping and there is a $50 rebate for today and tomorrow. That is a nice mixer and a good price.
