Last weekend my son went on slash and per norm I sat it out, he handed me his leather baseball cap (not cheap, from wilsons leather) I put it on the top of the stroller.
When I saw them come down the fall I turned to wave to them at the little area after the fall. When I turned back around his hat was gone.

I felt so bad that I ended up in tears because the hat had speacial meaning to him.

Have any of you ever had anything stolen from any of the parks??

This is a picture pre thieft :sad2:

That's a shame about your sons' hat. :sad2: Some people have no conscience. Once when my dd was 4, she had left a little Woodie doll(a happy meal toy from BK) in her stroller when she rode the carousel and someone stole it :sad2: She loved that little doll even though it was only a $2 toy. We ended up replacing it with a new WDW Woodie, the one with the pull-string. After she had him for a couple hrs., she later told us that she was glad she lost her old Woodie!! :wizard:

Wow! The nerve of some people...while you are standing right there!!

We, as of yet, have not had anything stolen.

Sorry that happened to you and your son.

Unfortuntely, on our last trip there we were watching Spectromagic, and my then 7 year old daughter took off her fanny pack while she watched the parade. She put it in the bottom basket of my niece's stroller as she sat on the sidewalk. Someone stole the fanny pack out of the stroller, and unfortunately the $25 in Disney dollars she had in it. The fanny pack was eventually turned in at Lost and Found, without the Disney dollars of course.

It really took away a lot of the magic for my daugher :sad1:

I hope this thread gets the responce that others get , it would be intersting to see just how much thieft happens in Disney......

Luckily we have never had anything stolen in WDW....now lost that is another story...

My father left an expensive beer stein that he bought at the Germany Pavilion in the restroom by mistake. When he went back to get it a few minutes later, it was gone. No one ever turned it in. :(

I have actully only been to disney once or twice, but i remeber the first time i went.

I was about 7-8 and had gotten a daisy hat. Its a baseball cap made to look like daisys face, with the beak eyes with long eyelashes and pink bow on top. I loved that hat but I was not allowed to wear it on splash mountain. I was so upset i couldnt, but one of the ride people in charge said he would hold it for me.

My mother was with me, but she got on the ride also since i was so young. When we got done, I went back to get my hat and he was gone! some other guy was there, they must of switched shifts. So my mom was upset and explained, the guy told her his name (i cant remember) so she reported it but they didnt do anything about it. They didnt even get me another hat. Sadly the hat was expensive (for us) so my mom couldnt even buy me another :(

I think that was the first time i actully got something stolen from me and learned about it.

We haven't had any thing stolen, but I'm constantly checking my back pockets, making sure my money is close to me, lugging all the coats, hats, and souvies so that people won't take our stuff from the stroller. We may leave our drink mugs, but who'd want to use those? I even worry about our balloons.

Wait! We have had a stroller taken. Can't remember which park right now. The experience was irritating, the stroller was replacable, but the action was inexcusable.

Yes, my mother loaned me her Revo sunglasses since I never wear sunglasses like I should.

We were at Animal Kingdom on our first day learning a bit about owls before the Bird Show, a kind of pre-show I guess. I put the sunglasses on the sunshade of the stroller and picked up my daughter so she could see better. When they opened the doors to let everyone inside to see the show I put her down and went to grab the glasses and they were gone. I looked all over the ground around the stroller (we were standing right next to it the whole time) and it occurred to me someone had bumped into me within that five minutes and they must have been pinched then. It made me feel terrible to lose them, and I had to think about it the rest of the week.

While we were watching Legend of the Lion King there was a downpour outside. When we came out, someone had taken our brand new extra large umbrella out of the bottom of our stroller. Hope they enjoyed it. :furious:

We had a little white Hanna Andersson hooded sweatshirt jacket that I loved because it went with everything.

Someone stole it off the stroller while I was in the bathroom with DD.

In January, at Blizzard Beach, someone stole my DS7's goggles, his $12.00 Star Wars toy from MGM, & a disposable water camera from our pool bag while we were at the snack bar for lunch. My son was so discouraged about Disney after that. :sad2:

The manager at BB was very helpful. He even replaced the water camera & we had not even asked. A CM from our hotel had a duplicate Star Wars toy from MGM sent over the next morning along with an autographed photo of Mickey. DS then felt so much better.

We know of at least one other family who was robbed from BB that day too. They had their entire backpack taken.

We had a bag stolen at BB a couple of years ago. It was unattended on a lounge chair. It contained 4 towels from the FT Wilderness cabins and a very old pair of sunglasses(kids). We reported the loss when we left and they called later that night that it had been found. Well, by the time we made it back over there a few days later, the nice BB folks had already mailed it home to us! I took a solo trip last year and noticed stuff that I usually would not notice. One of my major surprises was the stuff people left in strollers. It was truly amazing!!

I've never had anything stolen, but I'll admit we've left clean but "crumpled" diapers in the bottom of the stroller to discourage any hands from wanting to reach in. ;) I NEVER leave anything of true value in the basket of the stroller: diapers, wipes, water bottle, etc. only. All valuables are in the bottom reaches of the backpack so no one can reach in there either. I also have a lime green bandana tied to the handles, so it would be hard for someone to "mistakenly" mess with it.

At MGM this fall a woman was going off big time to some CMs outside of the Playhouse Theater b/c she couldn't find her stroller and it had everything in it: wallet, car keys, hotel key, etc. What on earth was she thinking? :sad2: I really wished I knew how that one ended. She was ripping that poor CM a new one. I so wished someone came right back with her stroller that they had taken by accident. I would have loved to see if she apologized.

Unfortunately, even though you're at Disney and the "Most Magical Place on Earth", there are still thieves among us. It doesn't matter where you go, someone will try to take advantage of the situation.

Last year at the local Ren Fest, My boyfriend had our Digital Camera on his belt. I was calling in to see if there was time off from CRO when I noticed that the camera wasn't on his belt. He'd been pinched. The camera was only a month or so old. *sigh* Ah well, I hope the thieves liked the photos they got. Lucky for me, my BF is a generous man and replaced my birthday gift. :)

There are always going to be "losers" that have top steal from people no matter where you or they are.
It is surprising, considering the number of people that pass thru the turnstiles each day, that MORE things don't get stolen from the parks.
I have seen people leave backpacks, soft sided coolers, drink mugs, camera bags, even shopping bags! hanging from the back of the strollers.

I for one will never leave anything available for wandering hands again .....

I cant help but think that there are people who go into the park with the soul intent of seeing what they can steal that day.

I am still shocked that things like hats, glass's and small cheap toys are amoung the list of taken property :sad2:

We have never had anything stolen. It would be hard to steal from me. I always use a backpack and fanny bag. Hands are free. I am carefull about sitting them down anywhere.

Yes, we had a stroller stolen outside of POC. Left a bad taste in my mouth and was expensive to replace, especially down in Orlando!
