Ever get stuck in a ride?

Stuck on Splash Mountain for 25 minutes at the bottom of the hill for the drop, listening to "We'll show you our laughing place" on repeat for the whole time made us contemplate jumping into the thorn bushes ourselves :lmao:

Ugh, we got stuck on Pirates for about 40 minutes. Usually it wouldn't bother me as that's one of my favourite rides, but the 8 screeching (not screaming, screeching) teenagers from Alabama in the car killed it for me. I was about ready to jump ship and swim to shore if I had to hear any more of them!

I've been stuck for short periods on a lot of rides, but last December we got stuck on IaSW for a LONG time. The whole ride was running at about a quarter speed so it took forEVER. All the lights were on inside, so I got a LOT of good pictures. But then at the end we were stopped for a really long time (the blaring music they wouldn't turn off even when we begged made it seem like an eternity). It was really bad. Workers had to come help us all out of the boats (eventually). I can't imagine I'll ever ride that thing again.

I was really glad to be in the happiest place on earth when we finally got out of there. Otherwise I might have been permanently traumatized .

(Here's a link to that part of my trip report, complete with lots of pics!)

Oh, and, the worst part was that no one apologized to or offered us fast passes afterward.

Minorly stuck in Splash Mountain. Kind of cool. Space Mountain has broken down right before I've gotten on it sometimes

Last February we got stuck at the very top of Spaceship Earth. Our car was in the process of turning around but we were up right next to the globe. After a while they turned on all the lights and we had to walk down. I know a lot of people complain about that but I loved it. If I had to guess I'd say I've been on that ride over 100 times so getting to see it all lit up and walking down was a different experience.

I've never been totally stuck, but have stopped for some time usually to load or unload people in wheelchairs. Typically this happens everytime we ride HM, once in the part going backwards (rather uncomfortable!), but this trip we did not. It stopped during Journey of the Little Mermaid during the "Kiss the Girl" scene. It was funny because rather than an over the speaker announcement to stay seated and wait for the ride to begin again, the Sebastian in the scene stopped talking on script and gave the message to stay seated!

Not until our most recent trip and we got stuck on both Pirates of the Caribbean and Spaceship Earth. And boy trying to keep our 2 year old twins occupied and staying in the boat/vehicle was no fun. It did eventually start up again on both rides.

Got stuck in Buzz for 30 min with a 4 year old DD at the warp tunnel, which kept going the whole time. Took her 3 years before she'd do another dark ride.

I was stopped in the graveyard scene on HM, right by the singing busts. I didn't care if it ever started up again!

To you poor souls who have been stuck on IaSW, I hope you have learned to cope with the PTSD that must have induced!

The kids and I were stuck on Splash Mountain. They unloaded all the other boats in our section, except for ours. We had to be unloaded on the other side. We sat in our boat for a long time. All the CMs had disappeared and another child in our boat became scared and was screaming and crying. Luckily my kids were not scared- just bored. After what seemed like forever the CMs finally reappeared and escorted us off the ride. The kids and I loved it because we were able to go behind the scenes of the ride. We had a chance to see things we would normally not see.

The only thing I would have changed is that the CMs should have returned to reassure us that we were not forgotten when the other child and adult started calling for them. They were honestly scared. It was a weird feeling to be left completely alone.

There are a number of rides that may stop in order to load and unload those who need assistance (such as in wheelchairs). I do not count those as "being stuck" because it is usually only for up to 5 or so minutes and then you start up again. Those stops are to be expected. Haunted Mansion and Spaceship Earth are examples of rides that do this.

I have never been stuck on a ride. Even when a ride has stopped for a short period, it always started again.

I got stuck upside down on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at UIOA. That was an uncomfortable 30 seconds. Still better than whoever had 30 seconds of Dementor in their face. ;-)

We got stuck on Buzz once for 20 minutes. We were 2 cars away from the exit but they would not let us get out and walk out (they let the car in front of us disembark and leave). Instead, we got to sit there watching the CM's in the exit area stand around talking. We were too far out of the ride to be able to play. It was ridiculous. What a waste of a morning EMH!

I have been fortunate that I've never been stuck on a ride, other than loading of guests in wheelchairs where the ride momentarily stops but quickly resumes.

Stuck on POTC during our Keys to the Kingdom tour. It was right before the small drop, and we did have to wait till CM's came to get us out of the boats and escort us out of the building. We got a fast pass for the inconvenience.

At DL this year we got stuck on Toy Story Mania and it was cool - lights came up and we saw everything "behind the scenes" so to speak. They had to walk us out from way in the back of the building and we were given passes to ride again.

We also got stuck on Radiator Springs Racers for quite a while (I snoozed!) and once they got it working, they brought us around and sent us right back out again. It was fun!

once when a friend and i were about to go on the astro orbiter in tomorrow land we realised that something had gone a bit wrong. A larger man had gotten stuck in the rocket..... i wouldn't have told that story except he was so good about it and just kept laughing... the poor CM's were beside themselves about what to do (they had to call the fire brigade in the end) i always felt bad for that guy...but it was very very funny! especially as one of his legs were stuck outside... very elegant!:rotfl2:

At Disney, I was stuck on Journey into Imagination in the train room for an extended period of time. At Busch Gardens Williamsburg, we got stuck going up the second chain lift of Big Bad Wold when the chain broke. The scariest part of that was when the train behind us cleared the first chain lift and started going down the track towards us. I knew there was a block brake but it was still scary feeling the track shake because of the train hurling towards us and hoping the block brakes worked. We were eventually were evacuated from the ride. They gave us a pass for Front of the Line for the rest of the day for our troubles.

We got stuck for 5 minutes on The Seas during the bit in the tunnel when you hear the 'children' shouting "Mr Ray, we've found Nemo, we've found Nemo!" I've not been able to bring myself to watch Finding Nemo since...

We got stuck on Haunted Mansion RIGHT NEXT TO A SPEAKER. We were there for about 20 min. So we heard the same music and sound effects over and Over and OVER...

The worst part was, I could see the exit door. But I didn't want to get out of my "doom buggy" and risk getting kicked out. It was our MVMCP night.
