Ever, Ever After: The TR Formerly Known as Wishing You Were Here- May 2011

Kate, I would have been freaking out if I couldn't find my bag with "all those important things" in it. I'm so glad you ended up finding it.

Pop Century! Pop Century! Pop Century! Carter is too funny. :rotfl::rotfl:

You are the calmest person I know! I would have looked like this:eek: with a little of this:confused: followed by a whole bunch of this:scared1: I check my carry on 10 times from our house to the airport for our passports....it's a sickness, I just deal with it now:thumbsup2

Glad you found your special items and how great that you got to go back to the hotel and just go to bed....:cloud9:

So glad you found your bag of Special things so quickly! :yay: I lost my bag of special things (our KTTW, my debit card, and some cash) on Splash Mtn our 2nd day. :headache: DH was not happy with me because I didn't realize I had lost it until we were getting ready to leave the park. I had to wait and hope that someone would find it and turn it in and not use my debit card! Luckily Pop Century was able to print us a temp card to get back into the room, and later when their computer system was working again, they printed new KTTW for us. And the best magic of all - my bag of Special things had been turned in and nothing was missing!!! But thankfully you didn't have to go through all the hassle of getting new KTTW, which was a good thing since you didn't have Jeremy right there to help you out. Or be mad at you. ;)

Very smart choice to head over to SSR instead of trying to navigate through DTD. I would have totally forgotten about SSR and gone to POR.

I am so glad you found your bag. It seems like you were pretty calm the whole time. I would have been freaking out not having a car or room key plus having 2 little boys with me.

Thank goodness you found your bag! I would have been a wreck!

I locked me and Everett out of our house once and the experience was just awful. It was right after we moved in, so I didn't realized that if you turned the door knob just the right way it would lock from the inside. I stepped outside to show the bug man the gate to the backyard, and when I tried to get back in, no dice. I was really thankful I had Everett with me! I almost just left him in the high chair while I stepped outside on the porch. :scared1:

Where DH works I can't contact him during the day, so I had to go next door to the lawyers office to call a locksmith, and I had no shoes and Everett was just in a onesie! We looked so classy! :rotfl: Luckily they were very nice, and the locksmith rushed right over when I told him I was on the street with a newborn!

After all that excitement I hope you guys had a restful evening!

Phew...I'm so glad you found your bag! It sounds like you were pretty calm...I would of been a hot mess! Hahahaha! :lmao:

OMG! Thank goodness you found your bag. I would have been freaking out, especially by myself!

Oh my goodness, what a stressful situation. I applaud you for staying calm and thinking logically of ways to deal with the issue. :worship: Not to mention your ability to keep two toddler boys entertained while searching for your bag! :thumbsup2 I hope you were able to finish off that day without any more bumps in the road!

So glad you found your bag! I would have been freaking out! I hate that feeling! lol

Kuddos to you girl, to stay calm and keep it all together.
Like everyone else here I would have freaked out completely.

So glad you found your bag. :goodvibes

OMG I'm so happy you found your bag! I probably would have freaked out and cried or something, then felt so stupid once I found it!

I like going to DTD, but I've never had that much trouble parking before. Jeremy, on the other hand, can take it or leave it
Yeah... I agree with Jeremy. :lmao::rotfl2: Apparently it's a guy thing.

I'm glad you found your bag and will not have to find a bench to sleep on until Jeremy gets there. Also, if you lose Carter, he should have no trouble finding a ride to meet back up with you at Pop Century now.:thumbsup2:rotfl:

Pop Century! Pop Century! Pop Century! Carter is too funny. :rotfl::rotfl:

I was so relieved to have found it. I thought having all my special items in one bag was convenient, until I thought I had lost the bag and lost everything at once.

I thought Carter was really cute saying Pop Century. He still says that now. I asked him if he wanted to stay at Pop Century in October and he said Caribbean Beach.

You are the calmest person I know! I would have looked like this:eek: with a little of this:confused: followed by a whole bunch of this:scared1: I check my carry on 10 times from our house to the airport for our passports....it's a sickness, I just deal with it now:thumbsup2

It's funny, I'm the sort of person who never worries about losing things like that. Of course I'm not sure that worrying about it beforehand would have prevented it. I could have checked it 10 times and still overlooked it. :rotfl:

I was so looking forward to going to bed after that. It had been a long day.

Oh, that's horrible. I would have hated to be stuck overnight wondering about it and hoping no one would use my card. I'm glad to hear Pop Century was able to print another key for you. I bet that I could have gotten back into the room, if the bag hadn't turned up. I'm glad your bag turned up, too, even if it was the next day. Love that Lost and Found Center!

Very smart choice to head over to SSR instead of trying to navigate through DTD. I would have totally forgotten about SSR and gone to POR.

I had considered POR, but I thought the having to take the boat might be harder with the two boys. I like SSR anyway.

It certainly wasn't ideal, to have lost the car and room key and have the boys with me, but as soon as I had my back up plan, then I was okay. I figured it would all work out somehow.

Thank goodness you found your bag! I would have been a wreck!

Our house used to have locks like that, too. I'm just glad you had Everett with you. That would have been so horrible, to be locked out with a baby inside. I think I would have had to break a window and get to him immediately. Going next door to call the blacksmith sounds like a much better solution. :rotfl:

Phew...I'm so glad you found your bag! It sounds like you were pretty calm...I would of been a hot mess! Hahahaha! :lmao:

I thought all along that I had a fairly good chance of finding it. It couldn't really have just disappeared. I was still very happy when it did turn up.

OMG! Thank goodness you found your bag. I would have been freaking out, especially by myself!

The by myself part was hard. If Jeremy had been there, he probably would have had an extra key and an extra phone and it all would have been much easier. He also probably would have found Special Items in the stroller before I did.

I do have to give full credit to Pop Century for keeping Carter entertained during the search. Apparently, Pop Century is really fun to say. I was really happy when I found it, sitting right there all along. The day was so close to over at that point, that there shouldn't have been any room for any more bumps in road.

So glad you found your bag! I would have been freaking out! I hate that feeling! lol

I hate that feeling, too. I suppose it was kind of silly to keep everything important in the same place. Sort of like putting all the eggs in one basket.

Kuddos to you girl, to stay calm and keep it all together.
Like everyone else here I would have freaked out completely.

I was so happy to see that bag there. I could have got by without it, but I'd much rather have not. I can usually stay calm about most things, aside from worrying about my boys. Usually.

OMG I'm so happy you found your bag! I probably would have freaked out and cried or something, then felt so stupid once I found it!

I really didn't feel stupid once. I probably should have, since it was right there all along, but I was just happy to have found it. Plus there was no one there but the boys, so it was fine.

Yeah... I agree with Jeremy. :lmao::rotfl2: Apparently it's a guy thing.

Jeremy always says DTD is just shopping and restaurants and there's plenty of both in the parks. I can sort of see the point, but I still like going to DTD.

If I was going to sleep on a bench, Saratoga Springs isn't a bad place to be. :rotfl: I'm sure Carter could easily have gotten a ride back to Pop Century, although I bet I would have heard him before he could get too far away. It's hard to miss the 2-yr-old going Pop Century!

Just to reiterate what everyone else has said-I'm so glad you found your special bag!! You once again managed to stay pretty cool, calm, and collected when many others would be, well, not! Hopefully you made it back to your room without further incident!

Walking through Pop Century back to our room, I was feeling pretty good. I had found my missing Special Items. I had had fun with the boys by myself at Disney.

Just a little bit longer and Jeremy would be back with us and everything would be absolutely perfect.

I was about to unlock our room when I heard fireworks go off. It was Illuminations. I looked across the lake to see that we had a pretty good view of them, considering how far away Pop Century is from Epcot.

I wheeled the stroller up a bit so the boys had a good view, too.

"Light! Cool light!"

Carter was loving the fireworks. He's always liked fireworks, as long as none of the shows include thirty minutes of spinning globes.

Landon didn't seem interested in the fireworks at all and was staring seriously off in the distance.

"Dah!"

I tried to see what he was looking at and saw a rabbit.

"You see a rabbit, Landon! That's so nice."

Carter and I enjoyed the fireworks and Landon enjoyed his rabbit until the fireworks stopped for the spinning globe.

It was a perfect ending to our day.

We went inside the room and I got the boys changed into jammies and into bed. I turned out the light and hoped that everything would go as smoothly as the last night had.

Carter, of course, had some chatting to do.

"Blue Dog- woof, woof! Bear- woof, woof!"

Apparently, his friends were going to be chatting too. I made a note to review animal sounds with Carter soon.

"Carter- Pop Century!"

He giggled for a long time before falling asleep.

Landon was asleep, too, breathing heavily.

Good. Two sleeping boys. I closed my eyes and fell asleep instantly.

I heard someone snoring. It was Landon. He sounded like he was struggling to breath. It wasn't cute little baby snores, but horrible, dying old man snores.

I could hear Landon tossing and turning in his Pack N Play. Occasionally, he would whimper in his sleep, sounding sad and pathetic.

What time was it? Was it morning yet? I grabbed my phone to check- 1:22. Not even close to morning.

It sounded like Landon was very congested, and he had been on sick watch anyway. I determined that he likely was sick, probably just a cold. What could I do for him?

All I could think of was giving him some baby Tylenol. Unfortunately, it was in my suitcase across the room and I'd have to find it in the dark without waking up Carter.

It was at that moment, that I really and truly wished Jeremy were there. I could deal with a lot of things on my own, but when one of the boys is sick, I want him there to help me. But he wasn't.

I got up out of bed as quietly as I could and went to dig around for the Tylenol. I found it after a few minutes of searching and Carter did not seem to be bothered.

I tip-toed back to Landon's Pack N Play and tried to give him a dose of Tylenol. It was difficult. He was still mostly asleep, so he wasn't cooperating with opening his mouth. It was still mostly dark, so I wasn't entirely sure where his mouth even was.

Eventually, I just picked him up out of bed and gave it to him. He cried a little before setting back down in my arms, holding on tight to me.

Well, now what? I had given him the medicine, and maybe it would help or maybe it wouldn't. What should I do with him now?

I stood there in the dark, trying to make up my mind. Good Mom and Bad Mom came and stood on my shoulders to help me decide. It was the old Good Mom, Bad Mom routine.

Good Mom wears skinny jeans and beautiful shoes. Her hair always looks perfect and she only drinks bottled water. She gets up early in the morning to go running.

Bad Mom wears jean shorts and flip flops and her hair is in a ponytail. She drinks coffee in the morning and sweet tea at night. She sleeps as late in the morning as the kids do.

Good Mom reminded me that co-sleeping is not recommended by pediatricians. Once you let a baby in your bed, he'll never want to sleep in his own.

Bad Mom reminded me how Landon hadn't been breathing very well and suggested that I keep him in my bed in order to better monitor his condition. And besides, he'd be so warm and cuddly. And look at that tiny, uncomfortable Pack N Play. It was probably cold and hard and miserable.

Good Mom said that plenty of babies sleep in Pack N Play's and it's not like Landon didn't have warm jammies on. He'd be fine.

I looked at my poor little Landon and saw him looking up at me with his sleepy baby eyes and I didn't have the heart to stick him back in that Pack N Play.

I told Good Mom I'd never liked her anyway and told Bad Mom I'd see her in the morning and Landon and I laid down in bed.

He snuggled up close to me and fell right to sleep, breathing easily, without even a snore. This was nice. He was warm and he smelled good, like honey.

I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, but my arm started to fall asleep from being underneath Landon. I tried to shift him around a little, but it didn't really work. He was just too close and I was too concerned about him.

Well, at least he was sleeping good. And I could certainly monitor his condition this way. I stared at the ceiling, wide awake. It was going to be a long night.

I'm glad bad mom won...I don't think there is anything wrong with a sick baby sleeping with his mommy:hug: I actually think everyone has a better sleep when they're sick! I had a great pediatrician...when I told him Jasmine was sleeping with me everynight and everyone was telling me how bad and wrong it was he said to me "do you realize that we are the only mammals that make our offspring sleep away from us" ....I loved our pediatrician!

Hmmm.. Guess I've been "bad mom" from the start. I couldn't imagine sleeping any other way when my little ones were babies. Oddly, they both sleep fine on their own, too. Must've been all that bottled water to balance things out. ;) I'm glad you brought him to bed with you. I think it's safer that way really, especially if he isn't feeling well. Hope things didn't get too bad for the little guy.

Poor little Landon! I sure hope he didn't get too sick while y'all were on vacation.

Okay, I was totally laughing & clapping reading about good mom vs. bad mom. And I want to know if you're spying on me because bad mom sounds EXACTLY like me! :lmao: As I'm reading your update, I'm drinking a very tall glass of sweet tea & it is 11:25 at night!!! Now, Reid does go to sleep on his own, in his own bed every night. However, at some point in the night, he always finds his way to my bed. And I'm bad mom so I don't make him leave.

I just have to take a moment to tell you that I really love your writing style for your TR. It always makes me laugh. You should write books!

How fun that you could see the fireworks! I've been meaning to ask you...how was it to go from CSR last trip to POP? Did you miss being at a moderate? I know so many people love POP.... so I was just curious!

Poor little Landon! It is so hard when your kiddos aren't feeling 100%!

Oh and I am totally "bad mom" everything on her list describes me to a T! :rotfl:
