Ever Done AKL Concierge without Parks?

Our AP will expire in Feb and we are planning a trip for the last week of April in Orlando.

I am considering staying 3 nights at AKL concierge, not going to any parks, maybe Typhoon Lagoon for a day, and just enjoy the resort and the concierge amenities before we move over to Universal's resort.

Has anyone done AKL concierge without going to the parks? How was it?

Hubby and I did AKL concierge without the parks.

We never left the resort. It was wonderful.

We checked in early afternoon, we were taken straight to our room, dropped the luggage and were then escorted to the concierge lounge. We confirmed our ps's...they were all at the lodge also. We had snacks and decided to head to the pool.

We had dinner one night at Boma, one at Jiko, breakfast from room service, breakfast at Boma. We just relaxed and enjoyed the resort...we would love to do it again. We enjoyed the concierge lounge treats on and off through out the day. We also ordered the afternoon snack from room service (a bucket of casablanca and the breads/dips and firecracker mix...wonderful) and watched the animals. AKL concierge is so wonderful...you don't ever want to leave.

We've never done concierge, but we have done "resort only" stays. We prefer the WL, so we can relax by the pool, rent mouse boats, take the boat to CR for dinner @ Chef Mickey's, & go over to FW for the campfire & movie. We usually find time to browse Downtown Disney, or go to Disney Quest, or go play mini-golf @ Winter Summerland. Have a great time!
