Ever deactivate your facebook

I only accept friend requests from people I know. I never accept them blindly. I will delete/ignore people I don't like or people with posts get too bizarre. My attitude is, if I don't want to converse with you in real life, I certainly don't want to put you on my feed to see my posts.

And that goes for family as well. I have some SILs that I don't like in person and purposely avoid. No need to see their crap on FB.

I will play on FB if I have down time but for the most part I just check the posts on my cell phone.

I am not sure I can go cold turkey. But I feel like I am spending waaaayy to much time on facebook. What really pushed me over the edge was my ex's friend just friend requested me. He was a friend, but well let's be honest, I dont like the connection with the ex. I dont like hurting peoples feelings, i usually just leave the friend request pending forever instead of accepting or denying.
I feel like I need to either do a house cleaning of the quasi friends and risk hurting peoples feelings, or just deactivate completely for awhile. Maybe not forever.

Anyone done this? Did you reactivate? How long did you stay off?

I did deactivate mine and haven't gone back. I had problems with people friending me that I really couldn't figure out why (DD said that people like to be nosey ).

Also, my understanding was that if you deleted somebody they didn't know it. All I can say is that I deleted a family member (I thought I was being discrete) and had some drama immediately ensue (their feelings were very hurt - not my intention at all). I immediately deactivated my account and told them that I wasn't trying to hurt anybody's feelings and that I had actually deleted everybody (by deactivating).

There were several issues that cropped up. Being a very private person, I just gave up on it. To each their own, of course!

I am so "inactive" on Facebook, my best friend, who is one of my few FB friends, continues to ask me are you on Facebook. I don't post, I only look at others. In fact that is the only reason that i have FB is to spy on others.
