ever come across someone you know in real life on a message board?

other than my sisters and bil here, which doesn't count since I first told them about the site, I have never run across someone I know in real life on a message board until today.

I am looking for a specialist for my daughter. we had asked her ped for a recommendation when we went for her 2 year appt, and he told us to go thru children's in boston, but never gave me a name. granted, it had been a crazy afternoon and he was dealing with tons of prescriptions and other recommendations, so it was as much my fault for forgetting to get specific as it was his (if it was his at all, which really it wasn't). I figured I'd ask on my local twins board if anyone there could recommend someone when lo and behold who answers? my daughter's ped. hehehe. he has twins himself but for some reason I hadn't even thought about he or his wife being part of this group. Anyway, I thought it was really funny and he was very nice and now (evil laugh) I have his home e-mail so I can bug him will all sorts of questions (j/k).

okay, now if he happens to be part of this board and answers this, I'm going to be thoroughly feaked out. lol.

I "met" the niece of a classmate of mine. I knew her Grandmother well & other members of her family. I know she was "legit" because she told me things you just couldn't make up.

on another board I used to frequent I met a girl that I went to HS with. We had chatted for a few months then we started finding similarities, finally we put it all together. We werent close in HS but we knew each other

Wow, now that would be weird.

That sort of stuff really gets me thinking about the 'grand scheme of things', fate and if some paths are meant to cross for some larger reason....

When I was single, I bumped into my MARRIED BOSS on a single's board. Everyone in the office was discussing chat rooms one day and my boss told his username. I recognized it immediately. I almost died. I never let him know. Needless to say, I never posted on that board again!

I did lose respect for him. It was really creepy. I changed jobs about three months later.

I haven't run into anyone I already know, but I have found out that some people I've seen on the DIS for years were closer than I ever imagined. Poohgirl71 and I just recently found out we actually work next door to each other and she's even shopped in my store occasionally. (and knew of the evil ***. manager I got rid of last Christmas)
