Ever been to a Tastefully Simple party?

I like the Garlic Garlic and Spinach and Herb dip mixes. I usually just make the dips with the recipe on the container (although I did use some Garlic Garlic to make garlic bread and it was really good.)

I used to always buy their Bountiful Beer Bread mix, until I found this recipe on allrecipes (so easy and tastes the same!) http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Beer-Bread-I/Detail.aspx (ETA: The recipe online calls for 3 cups of self-rising flour, but you can also use 3 cups regular flour + 3 tsp baking powder + 1-1/2 tsp salt.)

I haven't been invited to a Tastefully Simple party for a long time.

I'll vouch for that beer bread recipe - it's much cheaper and tastes just the same. It's delicious!

The all time favorite TS product at our house is the Bayou Bourbon sauce. OMG...it's to die for! I use it on grilled chicken, on top of meatloaf, and my dh's favorite is when I fry chicken cutlets and then toss them in a tupperware container with the bourbon sauce (straight from the bottle)...they taste like Jack Daniel's chicken strips app from TGI Fridays. Even my 4.5 yo ds loves the stuff!

I also am a huge fan of the Artichoke and Spinach warm dip mix and their new Strawberry dessert cheese ball. And I am never without the Spinach and Herb blend in the house!

And a note: If there's lots you'd like to order, consider booking a party instead. The host of the party you attend will get credit for your booking. And then when YOU have your party you'll get the host rewards! I was at a party last night and the host rewards for a party held in June is AWESOME. The regular rewards plus a $50+ Backyard BBQ something or other (it was 4 or 5 additional products free).

I will second hosting a party if you have a big list. I have done it twice, my first party was really good. My second party was this past November, and I had over $1100 in sales and I got a TON of free stuff, everything on my list and then a bunch more. It's usually very easy to get people to come and people always buy things, because everyone eats LOL.
One more thing I remembered, the garlic bread seasoning is amazing!

Such a timely post! I went to my first one this week. It was awesome!!!! I am in my mid/late 40's and have been to my share of these sort of parties, buy have to say it was great!!! For the first time ever, I actually volunteered to host one at my home soon. So much fun and a great time! :goodvibes

I went io my 1st TS party this afternoon. I loved and ordered the Beer bread, Fiesta Party Dip Mix, the Cake Batter Chiller Drink Mix and the MojitoDrink Mix!

I'm thinking about hosting a party. For those that did, do you get a commission as well or just enough credits to buy more products?

Usually you get hostess credit and half price items. If you are doing a show at your house, the rep gives you a 'goody' bag of stuff to pre cook (the stuff for your guests to sample). You have to usually buy the stuff to make it, but she gives you the TS product free).

I have always done well with hosting TS parties.

OP here...

So I went to the Tastefully Simple party last night. Had so much fun. I did end up booking a party (probably going to have it the 3rd week in July when we come back from vacation) We tried a few dips (bacon bacon, onion onion, fiesta, warm artichoke/spinach, backyard bbq) we also had the Cake Batter Chiller (YUM!!!) almond pound cake, beer bread, strawberry cheeseball. Thankfully I only had lunch yesterday and not dinner because this was basically my dinner. LOL

I ended up buying Bacon Bacon, Onion Onion, Garlic Garlic and Everyday Grilling Season. I figured I would start off with the main spices and build up from there. Everyone loved all the stuff but the favorite of the night, I think, was the Strawberry Cheeseball thingie. MMMMM But I don't think many people liked the Backyard BBQ dip that much. It's not that it was gross or anything but everyone said it tasted just like BBQ sauce, nothing exciting.

All in all it was great and can't wait for my own party. I just hope people show up because I never have much luck when it comes to stuff like this. Fingers crossed!!!

When you are making up your guest list for the party make it really long. Usually if you invite 30 people you end up with 8-10 that attend. I'm a Creative Memories consultant and that's what I tell my hostesses and for the most part that works. Sometimes it doesn't but you roll with it. :)

Yeah that's usually what I do. She gave me 20 invites and I've already filled them all out (need to ask her for about 5-10 more) I used to be a Stampin Up consultant and that's what I always told my hostesses also. I think I'm going to send out my invites and then let all my friends on Facebook know about the party (maybe I'll get a few outside orders with them) :thumbsup2

There is a recipe on the almond pound cake box for a trifle of some sort. It's made with vanilla pudding, strawberries, whipped cream, and the pound cake. I made it on Mother's Day and it was a HUGE hit.

Good luck with your party! Does your consultant have a TS website? If so, you will be able to send invitations that include a link to your party. This is a great way to get outside orders.

Yes, the consultant does have a TS website. Great idea!!! Never thought of that. Thanks for the idea!!!
