Ever been hurt on a ride/attraction?

I know, this is kind of a twisted thing to think about, but I am curious. Especially to see if most of these are the riser's fault or the ride itself.

The only almost-injury I've ever been witness to was a friend on the old Mr. Toads...someone had dropped a baseball cap on the floor in one of the rooms. Our friends in the car in front of us tried to grab it but missed (we were silly teenagers . Then my friend, sitting next to me, tried. He was leaning way out of the car, trying to reach it, when the doors slammed shut on his head!!! He had a big welt behind his ear, but was otherwise okay.

Wasn't too funny at the time, but we did laugh later...it was just his stupidity!! He was lucky not to get his ear torn off!! Definetly his fault.

What accidents/mishaps have you witnessed?

When I read the title to this thread, the first thing that came to my mind was those commercials with the ambulance chasing personal injury lawyers..."Have you or someone you know been injured on a WDW attraction? If so then call Scrooge McLawyer at 1-800-SUE-WALT".

I got hit in the face by one of those stick things girls hold their hair up in a bun in.It was on a rollercoaster at Six Flags .
I saw it wiggleing out as the ride went down the first drop and it just mezmerised me until it hit me.

Being a tall person with long legs I constantly find myself hitting my knees when I'm getting on a ride. I have had some very coloful bruises!

I have to second that. My husband hits his knees EVERYTIME we ride Dinosaur at AK. The first time it happened it actually cut his knee pretty bad, it took a while (and a few bandaids) for the bleeding to stop. Ever since then he has been very careful while riding that.

Way back in 1995 (my last trip), I met a family at the airport and struck up a conversation. The dad was on crutches and told me how he broke his foot/leg on IASWA. He said that as he was getting out of the boat and it moved forward putting him in that 1 leg in 1 leg out position. He said something like because of this, Disney is going make me a rich man. I don't think he was a happy camper.

I fell down trying to get into the boat on the Jungle Cruise once. I did scrape my knee. The CMs in the area immediately asked me if I was okay or if I needed medical attention. I told them I was okay. I was just embarrassed. It was my own fault. I tripped over my DD's leg.

No real probs, but on a kiddie roller coaster at a local amusement park my dd almost knocked out a tooth. She was leaning forward in her excitement looking all around. It started with a jerk that caught her off guard and her mouth slammed into the front of the car before I could react. Poor thing! She was three and so excited to ride her first roller coaster. We rode the whole thing about five times around the little loop with her tooth gushing blood and her bawling. As is typical of these types of amusement parks, no one noticed or stopped the ride. She was fine and the tooth wasn't knocked out, but it was pretty nasty and scared me pretty badly.

My other dd at age five did bang her head almost the same way her first time on Splash Mountain at Disneyland--leaning forward with excitement and hitting her forehead on the front of the log after the final plunge. No injury other than a small bump, but I was getting a little tired of all the head-bonking. We now have a strict policy in our family about riding rides sitting back with our heads all the way against the back of the ride!

Years ago I broke my collar bone on a water slide at River Country. I don't think it was anyone's fault, just a freak thing, the way my shoulder bumped up against one side of the water slide. BUT - I only ride the family raft rides now at TL and BB.

I hurt myself last year at IOA on the Dudley Do-right ride. The big plunge has that second dip at the very bottom and it is just a deceptively fast ride. I was trying to avoid water on my face and I leaned my head too far back as the log was going over the second bump and it just snapped my neck back completely. I remember staring straight up at the sky, straining my neck, unable to right my head because of the momentum of the boat. It scared the heck out of me and I was very shaken up after the ride. I didn't experience any lasting damage though....just alot of soreness.

Anyways, nope. I haven't been hurt on any rides. Not that I recall anyways. Eep. Can't imagine that'd be too fun. I'm pretty short kinda (5'2") so I don't need to worry about my knees bumping anything too often. The only thing I've ever really experienced is my head banging on stuff because of a jerky ride. At the local amusement park (Valleyfair) there's a rollercoaser (Corkscrew) that has a loop and the first few times I rode it, my head would bang from side to side during the loops so basically my ears were hitting it and man oh man. That hurt pretty bad. Stings for awhile.

Only once. Hall of Presidents. While exiting, slammed my shin pretty hard on a seat bottom that hadn't tilted back up.

MGM - Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area - knocked out one (baby) tooth, chipped another, on the slide entry area. Too many kids in that area (nice crowd control) and one shoved our 4 yr. old, though no doubt by accident.

Haven't been back there since as I still have the image of a bloody kid coming toward me...

I got Pegged in the eye while riding Jurassic Park in Universal... Someone in the first row had on a baseball cap.. I was in the back row.. and sure enough, it took flight on the big drop and flew right back like a missle at me. The guy next to me had quick reflexes and reached up and grabbed it mid flight, unfortunately AFTER it had almost taken my eye out!! Those suckers hurt when they are travelling at such a high rate of speed!! It was all in the ride photo at the end.. So.. once again folks.. secure all loose articles and REMOVE YOUR HATS!! LOL!!!

I cut both my elbows open on a slide at BB. I am assuming I didn't keep them completely folded across my chest? I didn't feel it, but the blood dripping down gave it away!

When DW was stepping out of a car at the end of Tomorrowland Speedway, her car was bumped from behind by another vehicle. She twisted her knee pretty badly. We went to first aid and while they were pleasant, they really couldn't do anything for her.

A couple years ago my niece and I decided to break away from the rest of the family to go to the Living Seas. On our way in she tripped, and when she got up, she had some blood coming out of her mouth. Well, I freaked! I had been trusted whith one of my sisters precious children, and in about 10 minutes she was injured. After locating my sister on the walkie-talkie and running over to her, we find out that my niece had only knocked out a tooth that was already loose. Wheew! And did you know that the tooth fairy pays $6 for a tooth at Disney World? Turns out every adult decided to slip some money under her pillow. I'm supprised she didn't start knocking them out herself!!
