Ever ask yourself "How'd I miss that?"

During one of my most recent trips, I decided to go and see Ellen's Energy Adventure, an attraction I'd never been interested in before. Well, I'll be darned if it didn't knock my socks off and zoom to the top of my "must see" liste on subsequent trips.

So I'm curious... what attractions have you skipped, only to reluctantly go see later and be blown away by?

Yep! The Timekeeper in Tomorrowland.
Its a cool attraction. The robot host voice is Robin Williams with all his humor and quirks.

Sure there are no seats only rails to lean on, but watching the movie fly by all around you, kept my 10 year old so entranced that he was not looking to sit. Its short too, maybe 10 minutes, so you aren't standing there very long anyway.

Unfortunately for me, they don't open it very often. I saw it for the first time on Easter Week. I understand its been closed all summer so I am not holding my breath for Labor Day weekend.

P.S. We love Universe of Energy too. We always visit Ellen and Bill every trip. ;)

Have Fun!

Would you believe it wasn't until our 6th trip that we saw "The American Adventure"? I can't explain why we never bothered to see that show before - the show's content (choices of historical topics represnted) didn't thrill me as much as the animatronics did. We've seen it on each trip since then and will definitely see it this November!

Good topic!:D

DH and I didn't see Voyage of the Little Mermaid until our last trip. We didn't think the lines were worth it. Turns out we loved it and can't wait to see it again with my nephew this year.

One of the true gems that many people seem to overlook is the Magic of Disney Animation Tour. We do it every visit.

Ellen's Energy Adventure is one of the most improved attractions ever at WDW. We used to go to the Universe of Energy and thought it was interesting, but EEA is SOOOO much more entertaining.

went there and didn't find the ride. later read that there was a ride there and thought how could we miss an entire ride. recently read that the ride portion was removed.

Back in the 80's when Epcot first opened, I can't tell you how many times I walked past not knowing that show existed inside!

I never knew about the movie in France, just happened upon it the last time I visited. Great movie and music.

I knew it was there but I was to chicken to try it, Splash Mtn. Well I got the courage up and rode it and now I wouldn't dare not ride it anytime I have the chance.

We skipped Diamond Horseshoe SO many times, then on our last trip we happened to be walking by when a show was starting and we caught it. It was an absolute RI-OT!!

And now its gone..... :(

But at least we saw it before it left!

This is kind of a different take....but growing up in Titusville, FL we would take a day at a time and only visit the parks. I never even knew there were character meals at all and only thought really, really rich people could actually stay in the resorts.

I didn't realize just how many restaurants there are in the parks either. My grandma was the one who took us most of the time and she was a creature of habit, so we always ate at the same places. Imagine my surprise when I realized that I could actually go and eat lunch in the restaurant overlooking iasw...much less the Castle!!!!

It actually took this fifth trip for me to get on Pirates of the Caribbean for the first time! OK, it didn't blow me a way but it was pretty cool. Went on it twice.

Another vote for Voyage of the Little Mermaid. That show was simply fantastic!

Impressions de France. Missed it on many visits, took it in a few trips back, a great film, super music.

Peter Pan...

On previous trip I had always gone at Peak times and the lines were to long...No fastpass then.

We did it on the first trip with then soon-to-be DH and LOVED IT SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!

It's one of our favorites and try to go on 2 times per trip.

I am embarassed to admit all of these things I had missed. I live very close to Disney (about 40 miles) and I have been going there since 1971 (when I was 2). BUT, I never knew that you could eat in the castle, I didn't realize there were more resorts than the monorail resorts, and I was pretty clueless about character meals. I have learned all this in the last 2 years since I found this board. I think a lot of us locals just go for the day (or half-day in my case) and aren't aware of what all there is to do at Disney!
The worst part is that I have a cousin that works at Disney (as a VERY, VERY well known character) and my husband's uncle and cousin both work there also! You would think I would have known more than I do!
Whew...I feel better now that that's off my chest! LOL

We weren't overly fond of Hunchback of Notre Dame movie, so we didn't go to the stage show the first few times we went. We finally went because we wanted to sit down, we were near the show and no other shows were running at that time. We loved it and now we really miss it. Glad we got to see it the times we did.
