Hi everyone,

I've got a question in regards to Mickey's Halloween Party at DL. My wife and I are WDW vets, but we will be making our first trip to DL California in a couple of weeks.

We have tickets for the Halloween Party our first night there, so I'd love to get some recommendations on things that should not be missed. It will be just us, no kids, but like most here we are kids at heart. We are also both big fans of all things Halloween.
I am also curious which seasonal attractions are available on non-party nights, as I want to spend our time focusing on what we can't do the following non-party days in the parks.

I am guessing that things like the Ghost Galaxy theme of Space Mountain is a fixture during the Halloween season, rather than being only on party nights. I would suspect the same of the Haunted Mansion makeover. But I could be wrong! I would hate to find out after the party that I missed my only shot at them.

Any other insider tips on the party would also be appreciated, and thank you all in advance!

Both of the Halloween overlay attractions (SMGG and HMH) are available during the day. Some of the characters (like Jack & Sally) are available both during the day and the party, but they might move to a different location or have a different backdrop.

Unique to the MHP will be the new parade (Frightfully Fun), including the Headless Horseman, and the fireworks (Halloween Screams). The Cadaver Dans are also unique to the party. The Toontown pre-party usually features characters in unique/different Halloween costumes. There are also usually unique characters available during the party. The Villains meet in "Villains Square" (aka Town Square). While some of the villains may be available during the day, there are usually at least one or two (per set) that is unique to the party. Assuming they do it again, when the villains change out there is a pretty neat little show (not on the schedule, so you'll have to ask about it with one of the CMs at villains meet and greet). Some of the characters may also be wearing Halloween costumes that are different from their daytime Halloween costumes. And of course...don't forget to go trick-or-treating!

You should also go check out the live scarecrows. They are usually outside of the golden horseshoe in Frontierland. They are pretty cool always cracking jokes etc.

At the end of the night there is a goodnight show by the villains (at least there was last year).

Not just the cadaver dans but the whole atmosphere around the Rivers of America is taken up a notch!

As an above poster said, there is a lot to do at MHP. But be aware that no one ever manages to do everything in one party! Pick the things that look the most interesting to you, then prioritize. Have realistic expectations that you will probably hit most things on your list, but maybe not all. That way, if you do cover your list, great! Every year it seems there is at least one poster who complains bitterly that the party was worthless for them because they didn't get to do everything or because they ran themselves ragged trying to do everything so that they enjoyed nothing. Not exactly the makings for a fun night...

There are a few rides we want to ride at night if we aren't able to get to them on Sunday night or possibly reride if they were awesome! Probably do the Toontown pre-party, one round of villains, see the parade and fireworks then trick or treat. We are having an early dinner at 4:10 so aren't going to waste party time with that! Oh and do a little shopping for party exclusive merchandise!

Is that too much??? This is stressing me out lol

I forgot about the goodnight from the villains (gotta take pictures this year!)! That was so fun! The majority of the villains were at the Town Square, but Cinderella's Stepmother and the two Stepsisters were wandering around that area interacting with guests.

There are a lot of photo ops too - we were in line for Wendy and Peter out by the Riverboat, but by the time we got there, it had changed to Hook (no Smee - we just missed him). Lots of trails, lots of goodies. The scarecrows were funny too.

Oh, the Ray Bradbury Tree is all lit up in that general area too - so pretty.

I'm going to two parties so I won't miss out on anything this year.
