Events for DVC members?

My wife and I are (hopefully) soon-to-be DVC members. (We'll take all the you guys have while we wait for our ROFR). I had read at some point about a special events for DVC members on PI. How often do they take place and what happens? Thanks in advance!

In '04, between Thanksgiving and Christmas DVC had Merry Mixers for members. I think they were held on Tuesdays by the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. This summer they're sponsoring 2 hour get togethers on Tuesdays at PI. Members can also go to a weekly meeting that's held at SSR, I think on Wednesdays. Then in December there are the association meetings.

On Sept.3rd. there's going to be another PI get together. It's the afternoon before the Members Cruise, but it's for all to attend as well.
"Spread the word - the "Bon Voyage Party" is open to all Disney Vacation Club Members visiting the Walt Disney World® Resort."

So, these are things that have been in place since we've been members. We're going to our first Block Party this August, and the Sept. 3rd one as well.

The Tuesday events at PI probably will only last through the summer. A few years ago, they had a similar event at the BCV one day a week during the summer months.
