Evening Weather ?

Well we are 13 days out from our CA trip and I am beginning to pack and am wondering about the weather in the evenings. How cool does it get?

as far as DLR goes, the weather in july will likely just be hot. hot in the morning, hot in the afternoon, a little less hot at night, but not much. you could easily get by in shorts and a tank top the entire time.

since you said your "CA trip"...i'll say that if any of that includes being on the beach....literally, ON the sand, at night, then you'd want a sweatshirt. but if you're strictly going to be at DLR, pack light. we don't pack any long sleeves or pants whatsoever for our summer trips. shorts, capris, tank tops, and t-shirts. we've never been rained on in the summer at DLR, never had a chilly evening, never encountered a freak storm, etc.

if you're really concerned, maybe just bring a long sleeved shirt that is easy to stuff into a backpack incase you decide you want it in the evenings. but you probably won't need it.

Hot and humid! We will be there around the same time! I pack a light sweater because I get cold in some of the rides at night. I will pack one pair of jeans jic.

It's hard to say. There have been a couple of times when we've gone in the summer and we've ended up buying sweatshirts because it got colder than we thought. Other times I've brought a sweatshirt and never needed it. Of course, if you want a good excuse to buy a nice souvenier sweatshirt then definitely leave the sweatshirt at home and hope for a cool night.

You should pack a sweatshirt and then once you're there you'll probably be able to tell better if you need to bring it with you to the parks or not.

I am at DL waiting for the tram. It is 9:15pm. It is 74 degrees out. It is not humid.

LOL! Didn't play in the Park today, just met a friend for a bite to eat and picking up a gift at the Lego store. But, yes, it's a gorgeous night out.

No, it won't be humid. This is West Coast heat, so it will be dry, but warm in the evenings. At most, you need a very light jacket, but nothing else. Wearing short sleeves is definitely bearable. It gets piercing hot in the day, so if you spend excessive time outside, wear sunscreen.

LOL! Didn't play in the Park today, just met a friend for a bite to eat and picking up a gift at the Lego store. But, yes, it's a gorgeous night out.

It's beautiful here in WA tonight too, but I would just love to be at DLR instead. You are fortunate that you live so close that you can go shopping and eat there when you want. There are so many restaurants in DTD that I'd like to try, but I can only do so much when we're there for a few days. Oh well, only 100+ more days to go.....LOL

It was a very nice evening in WA tonight..with better still to come over the next couple of days...
We are getting close with only 35 more days to go till we celebrate my 40th with the mouse!!!!

Thanks for the info. We will be all over this trip....DLR...Santa Monica, Pasadena and Vegas. I will be packing warmer clothing just in case.

Living in Miami, FL the humid weather is something we are very use to! We are hoping to get away from it for just a little bit.

Pasadena is hotter, especially during the days. It cools down some in the evening.

Vegas is a desert. It is VERY hot during the day and cools way down at night.

Humidity is not an issue.

Well, it can be desert hot, but I feel humidity...it's not like the ocean is THAT far away.

I always have layers when I'm there all day. Although I still haven't done allll day in the summer heat there, I would keep a warmer layer just in case, b/c even if the nighttime weather is warmer than "home" weather, after the relative heat of the day, I get chilly! Those big drops bug me, even if the temp is hotter than I'm used to up in WA.
