Evening MK Parade updates?

They have always had a night time "lit" parade and it was always so magical at night. Please Disney....stop the greed!
Actually, I don't think WDW had a night time parade until about 1977, at least as far as the electric parade goes. I don't recall any nightly parades before that. They did, and still do, have the night time electrical water parade which started very soon after the Magic Kingdom opened.

Correct there was a WDW version of the MSEP then that stopped for Spectro. Then spectro stopped and the DL version of MSEP came over and the WDW was either destroyed or sent somewhere else. I forget that part. The electrical pageant has been there since 71.

I love MSEP but wholly open to a replacement - I still think it's likely one will hit by the 50th.
I do wish that as attractions are retired they'd film them for posterity and release blu-ray retrospectives on occasion. I'd be happy to own such a disc.

Who here remembers seeing the parades at Epcot, DHS, and AK? The good old days. My kids always loved the parades.

indeed. long gone now. like the night parade at DLP which we all assumed would one day be replaced. it wasnt, - not even for the upcoming 25th.

Loved all of them, creativity at work.

We actually were IN the AK one right before it closed. Awesome memory!!

EDITED: Just heard a rumble that a plan B is falling apart and gone silent. I don't see an answer now unless they steal a "working" parade to be sooner than later.

Well, Disney keeps making these decisions, and attendance is now down. As you can see from my signature, we went every year but one from 2005 to 2015 (and made up for it by going twice in 2010). But you won't find a stay listed in 2016. Nor will there be one for 2017. I love Disney World, as much as I think anyone can. But I won't do nothing while they take away the things we love the most.

Agreed, but it's still better than nothing. I actually never took the time to watch MSEP (other than when my parents took me as a small child that I don't remember) until this past summer when I knew it was my last chance. I had obviously seen it passing by and thought it looked pretty boring. But I actually enjoyed it when I took the time to watch it. I'd much rather have MSEP than a night version of FoF. It's a great daytime parade for sure, but I'd just much rather get something closer to PTN or keep MSEP than adding lights to an existing parade.

The problem is that it appears Disney doesn't want to pay for a night parade right now.

See I'm one of those people who are throwing a wrench in the thing because I don't really miss it. If it were going by somewhere I could see it, I'd stop and watch for a minute but I haven't watched it in years. To be fair though, I don't watch the afternoon one either and didn't watch the ones in the other parks. Odd that since I do love a parade and am not a must ride every single ride person.

Not to worry. There are plenty of others who do miss it. Why else were the crowds so high for it every night? Even many who don't do parades miss the short ride lines during the parade.

I don't miss it either. Parades only get in my way when I'm trying to get from one end of the park to another. I've only seen the end of FOF because I got stuck at the end of Main Street trying to leave the park. I haven't purposely watched a nighttime parade at MK since Spectro.
We did make sure to see Paint the Night when we were in Disneyland in May, but for how long you have to stake out a spot to watch I wouldn't bother doing it again. It's a good parade, but I hate the wait.

Mine too...
On our trip in October 2001 we went 4 days and saw all 4 parades at the 4 parks.

Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade @ AK
Tapestry of Nations @ Epcot
Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade @ MGM
SpectroMagic @ MK

Still have all the videos.
That was a really Magical trip!
I think they also had 2 fireworks shows each night at MK..can anybody confirm that?

One of my proudest moments was marching in the MSEP when I was a freshman in high school. It was amazing.
Thats so amazing! I marched in an Epcot parade right before the Orange Bowl my sophomore year, I wonder how they determine which bands march in which parks:scratchin

Oh my! Do not get me started on the loss of the DAK parade. I never saw the parade in Epcot, but I liked all of the rest, and especially The Jingle Jammin Parade. I thought it was one of the most original and well done parades.

I think that there will be another MK eveing parade, but who knows how long it will take to manage that. I think that as long as there is no real pressure to get one going, it will be later rather than sooner.
