I have never taken advantage of the evening extra magic hours. Are they worth it? Last time we went we did ALL the morning extra hours and the parks on those days were TOO crowded. Is it the same during the evening extra hours? Should I steer clear of the park with the extra hours? We'll be traveling to WDW the first week of May.

Thanks for your help!

Some people will say to avoid the parks that have EMH because of the crowds. I think it all depends on when your going. I think early May might be ok. As far as the evening hours, I think it's less crowded the later it gets. :scratchin

Two thoughts: First, you should be willing to stay the entire 3 hours. EMH crowds diminish pretty quickly after the first two hours and you will have the park practically to yourself during the last hour.

Second, it depends on the park. MK has a ton of attractions open during the evening EMH so the crowds are dispersed more than the crowds at Epcot (FW) and DAK, which do not have that many open. So it doesn't take too many guest to create waits for the big attractions at Epcot and DAK. I expect this will especially be the case at DAK after EE opens.

Can't say what you would find the first week of May. Last June the evening EMH were way too crowded to enjoy.
We have always had great success in getting to all the parks before opening (EMH or regular). You can get a lot done before the big crowds arrive later in the morning. We always leave by around noon or so and head back to our resort for a break. We then hop over to another park for the rest of the day. Avoid the park with the evening EMH unless you are planning to participate. The crowds for the evening EMH start arriving in the late afternoon so the park gets really busy.
