Evening Extra Magic Hour Wristbands

Quick question...

I read on Allearsnet.com that you can pick up wristbands no sooner than 2 hours before park closing on Evening EMH nights. Is it possible to get wrist bands after closing? Are there limited numbers of wristbands available?

Lets say I want to be at Epcot to watch Illuminations, the pop over to MK for EMH, would i be able to enter the park at 9:30 and get a wristband if the EMH started at 9? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

Yes, you can enter the park after its already closed and get a wristband.

How do they get everyone else out of the park? Or is it just that they can't ride the rides? I am confused how they will be able to get just the hotel guests in the park after everyone else is already there.

Disney Hotel Guests have a "Key to the Kingdom" it is their resort key card and they have to show it in order to get into either EMH. Those guests that stay in the park after hours who dont have wristbands are not permitted on any rides and I believe they are encouraged to leave when CMs see them walking around. What is the point of stay after hours if you can't ride?

Not only can you get them after the park closes - when I was there a few weeks ago I saw them handing out wristbands even two hours into the EMH (although the people manning those stations did look a bit lonely at that point . . .)

Is thier a cost to getting a wrist band.
Or is it a perk for staying in a wdw resort.

there is no cost for disney resort guest to getting a wrist band. also i do not think disney minds if others stay. i think they want them to shop and eat.

I was wondering if anyone has any comments on the extra hours. Does the crowd thin out?

If I'm staying at the Swan I believe that hotel counts towards being able to get a wrist band, am I correct?

Also, if I have a four day park hopper pass can I go to whatever park I planned for that day and then hop over to the park that is staying open the extra hours in the evening?

When we went last May, they were "experimenting" with the EMH at night. At Epcot, they passed out wristbands right after you entered the park. There were tables set up.
