That's not completely true. MK and EPCOT have EMH on Tue and Wed nights. The paid event is on Thursday night at MK. The DAH is usually 3 hours long. So it would be till 1 or 2am depending on when the park closes.

SO nice to hear, I am GLAD this is true, loved the evening extra hours........thanks!

I added more to my post....you quoted me quickly! :D You are welcome! You just have to pay attention here on the DIS and pay attention to the park calendars. The ONLY reason I wouldn't pay for a DAH is because it falls on a day when I'm checking out. Next trip I'll be taking advantage of the EMM in Fantasyland. Would have done it for our trip in June, but I became aware of it after I planned our park days and talked over with my son what we wanted to do. I've got FPs in place now, so I'm not willing to move things around. And....paying $79 per person instead of $125 or $139 per person is a bit easier.

Our family has been doing night EMH for years. We are night owls and not early morning risers, so we love it! Back in the day, MK would be open until midnight - they would have dj's and dance parties until 3 am! It's not like that anymore, but we still love the night EMH. There is significantly less people after the fireworks and mass exit, and it's so much easier to get around. Ride wait times depend on what time of year it is - but it's definitely shorter than normal park hours. We easily get in 4-5 rides in that 2 hours. Plus it's nice to shop at the end of the night without tons of people in the stores! And the pictures without all the crowds are great too. I wouldn't do it any other way - if there is a night EMH, we always plan to do MK that day and stay until close!!

We always do the evening EMH because we’re (mainly me lol) late risers. We like to book a late-ish dinner reservation and then head into a relatively quiet park for the extra hours.

As much as I enjoy them they’re not as quiet as they used to be and I think that depending on what time of year you go crossed with parties & other paid events there doesn’t seem to be as many of them. That could be me though, I could be remembering it differently lol

Some of my favorite Disney memories are walking around MK at 1-2am! Those are the best EMH. I don't consider 8pm-10pm EMH, the parks are still full of people- it's just like a normal night.

I agree, they aren't as quiet as they used to be. And there definitely isn't as many of them - especially now that they added in the paid after hours events. :sad1:

We absolutely LOVE evening EMH, and wouldn’t consider skipping them, especially at Epcot. As others have said, world showcase is AMAZING during EMH. One of my absolute favorite memories of our last trip. (But do be aware - some of the shops and stuff close in WS during that time.) We loved wandering around and got some great pictures!

We don’t do EMH for big rides - we do it for the atmosphere mostly, and just to ride whatever appeals to us and has a short wait. Last time at MK we rode barnstormer and dumbo multiple times without getting off - that was fun. We also love People Mover at night! Since the sun sets so late in the summers when we go, EMH is our big chance for the parks after dark, especially at Epcot since it closes earlier.

I do wish the MK ones were a little later. We loved the ones from 12-2 back in 2010. But they’re still fun!

They work at MK only if they extend to 1 or 2 a.m. The 2 a.m. ones are fantastic. If they end at midnight or before, they are not worth it because too many people can make it to the end.

Totally agree!!

DH and I would stay up late and enjoy the 2AM EMH, walking around MK that late was fantastic.

Agree with above posters 10-12 is better, but not as good as the 1-2AM closures.

8-10 for EMH is just another park night, but more busy as EMH seem to draw more people.

Right now MK is closing at 10pm on their EMH nite in June that first week in June. But I'm told to look for the park hours extension that second week in May. I'm crossing my fingers for an 11pm close. Would LOVE to be walking around MK at 1am with my son! We would be sleeping in the next day as it's checkout day. Wake up around 10:30, shower, pack up, grab breakfast in the room, check out and head over to Disney Springs to spend some money before driving home!

We are going the second week of June. I have Thursday morning and afternoon scheduled as a sleep in and pool day until the evening. Hoping for later hours too!

Hi! :wave2:

So I'm curious to know your opinions on evening EMH. I think I may have asked already, so forgive me. In another thread, I read where several aren't happy with it. They say it's shorter and with park hours down, that makes them earlier. I know EPCOT will always be 9-11, so I'm not concerned about that one. They say the best ones are where MK closes at 11 and it goes till 1am. Even till 2am with a 12am closing. I've just never done one and I'd like to be able to say I have. The morning EMH doesn't work with my park days otherwise I'd definitely do those. It'll just be my son and I. We will have definitely used FP to its fullest, so I won't mind standing in a line or two.

So be honest please! It won't prevent me from going if bad, but perhaps just not staying the whole time. Thanks for your input! :thanks:

The poll is strictly for MK.

The decision to do emh or not is not a hard and fast one. Sometimes it pays off. Sometimes it doesn't. But here are a few guidelines to help you.

Unlike morning emh, the evening ones do not start at a zero line condition.
In general, the further you get into an emh, the less crowded it is.
In general, the later an emh starts, the less crowded it is, however, you are also less likely to want to get up for morning touring.
Emh brings more people into the park all day, not just during the emh. So you have to weigh the benefits vs the costs.
When it's a more slack time of year consider emh. 15% more of a low number is still a low number and hours are short.
Also when it's mega busy, consider emh. You're packed anyway. What's 15% more? And the extra time will do you good. You'll more often see those very late evening emh's during busy periods. .
It's times in between the two extreme that emh becomes the most iffy.
If you're a hopper, you might want to consider emh more strongly. If you're not, you might want to consider skipping it.

We're going in July and those are the times for our MK EMH, too. (We're also doing DAH the next night...clearly we really love nights at MK!) I agree that 11-1 would be better, but 10-12 will still be fun if it ends up that way. :) Sounds like you have a great plan - that's a perfect last night!

They have After Hours scheduled for every Thursday in June. They are to be released for purchase April 29th.
