Even the Christmas commercials are depressing!

I've seen the Hershey Kisses commercial a lot already. I haven't seen the M&Ms one with Santa though. Those are the two I look for.

Most the new ones I've seen aren't bad. I like the Shutterfly one were the new baby exclaims, "2020 was the best year ever!" 😂

The only one I saw that made me sad was a commercial for a sporting goods store. Maybe Bass Pro Shop? They were inviting kids to come see Santa. Santa was sitting in his normal red velvet chair, but his chair was in a plexiglass box. 😢

Love that the West Jet one got mentioned! They do something every year, the one where they visited one of the Caribbean islands was pretty awesome too, as well as the one where they focused on Fort McMurray which was ravaged by fires. Not sure how or what they will do for this year, it’s been a hard year for airlines.
:goodvibes Yes, and here's to wishing the thousands of Westjetter's who have lost their jobs our thanks and a better year ahead. This year's Christmas Miracle is maybe a little different - it's mostly taking place on-line, so I don't know if there will be a 2020 video but the "miracle" will be the same as last year with the proceeds going to Canadian Ronald McDonald houses. Here's the 2019 version (scroll down the page to see videos from past years):

Still waiting to see Santa slide in on his Norelco razor.... don't know if they still show this one but always looked for it.

might want to try Lawrence Welk on PBS.....I don't know if Andy Williams is still on cable...because this commercial been around since the 60s, a favorite because of the background looking like Burl Ives ready to come over the hill.

i actually lost my mind a bit the other day when I watched a Publix commercial with big huge groups of people getting together for Thanksgiving. It ended with "its not what is on the table that matters, it is who is around it". Um yeah bad choice. It was played literally right after a news piece where they were BEGGING people to not gather for the holiday. I actually emailed Publix and expressed to them how irresponsible I felt it was to play this commercial right now, and they wrote back (good for them!) saying that they had actually pulled the commercial. Okay, good choice, we all make mistakes. Well, the next night I am wrapping Christmas gifts in front of the news (yes, I know its early but it was cheering me up) and what comes on...yep, the SAME FREAKING COMMERCIAL. Ugh. I will not ever give Publix any of my $$ from this point on. So incredibly tone deaf. And depressing.

Matthew M looking better all the time. looking better all the time to the public......John Travotial and Sam Jackson not looking so good and neither is the other Christmas movie with Brucie Willis..... Die Hard commercial was really pushing the envelope on needing a good battery...I can't even remember what he used the battery for, anyhow. On Telemundo he was shooting up the bad guys. Bad guys doing Christmas Commercials...what gives???

We pretty much quit watching normal TV... we are watching, Movies, and binge watching things like Game of Thrones, The Borgias, even things with lots of sequels like the God Father, Rambo, The Matrix, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Star Trek, Dirty Harry, Marvel, and of course Disney, Or we pick a actor or actress and start watching all their movies.

I had to make sure that my parents stopped watching the news early on...

There is a Bass Pro here in the area and that is how they are doing Christmas pictures with him. He is behind plexiglass and has a face shield. The store has done an amazing job with this. You can still visit Santa but it is done safely.

I know that's really the only safe way to do it. It just makes me sad to see it.

There is a Pulp Fiction Christamas commercial making the circuit and a month ago there was a star wars/startrek commercial about delivery . You could find those commercials and show them after the airing of the movies. and there is even a Christmas commercial for Natile portman's 2010 movie.

.....jimmy fallon thank you notes....... 📬📬🐸🐸🐸🐸🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄and thank you ford motor company for making a 70s song about a bullfrog an acceptable Christmas song.

There’s a Coke commercial with the tag line “ together tastes better” and it’s a group of friends hanging out. Seems like they should have pulled it. I’m also getting promotional emails from various companies with “hosting tips” in them. Yikes.

.....and when did John Goodman become our grandfather to take us back or thru Fisher Price Toy Land.....or is he a fairy godfather ? I need some help here...this one is over my head!!!

NO.....sorry......you know these commercials are just pulp to get us to cringe at ourselves....and all the gift buying....pure fiction....and the naughty list....well okay there is a Christmas commercial that suggest that you gotta have capital with the big man to get off that list..... camaraderie or not 🌴🌴🌴🌴🎄🎄🎄🌴🌴🌴🌴🙈🙈🥴👴....
WOW....just saw this commercial for the second time....there is an EAster egg, inside an easter , inside an easter egg.....there is a Royale on his t-shirt. WOW...this commercial is really themed.

2020 really is the worst year. I always say to myself, "It's not Christmas until I see the Hershey's Kisses bell commercial!" Well, wouldn't you know, they screwed that up this year too! I saw it on youtube the other day, and while it started out normal, they interrupted it with a new segment with a little girl grabbing one of the Kisses and putting it on a cookie. Now granted, this was on youtube so I don't know for sure if they're still showing the original on regular tv, but I hope they are. Some things are just sacred and should NOT be changed, especially during a year of such upheaval in so many other things. First Apple holds Charlie Brown hostage, now this!
OMG, I just saw this commercial. Don't like it AT. ALL. It was on a lesser know channel, COZI, that shows old TV shows.

They do show the original on tv but I just happen to see the new version today. Couldn't they just have picked a different song to use for the new commercial? I didn't like the abrupt interruption (good description). It's a classic commercial and some of what we need right now is to remember a time before all of this. Make a new commercial for Hershey kisses but don't mess with the old one :)
