Even More New Cricut Cartridges

Yesterday, ProvoCraft released an update to the Design Studio. It included images for 3 previously unknown cartridges.

Potpourri Basket - This is like the "Sampler cartridge" that came with the infomercial bugs, with a different collection of images. These images are all taken from other cartridges. Screenshots in this thread

Also FYI, the CDS update will block SCAL if you have that program. The recommendation for now is to have one folder with your CDS, one folder with the trial version of CDS, and you can switch the firmware back and forth so that your SCAL will work.

I kind of like sportsmania.. gives me a bit more stuff w/ my kids involved in so many sports..and I wouldn't have to buy each different cart...

Not fond of the potpourri..

Kind of like the home decor

calligraphy is okay..

Christmas I like.. love the old world looking Santa!!! And those tall reindeers are great!

Unsure on Wildcards..


Good thing I don't have SCAL or CDS.. you all would be holding my hand.. I'm so computer tech. challenged it's awful!!

Nancy, I am right there with you - do not have DC or SCAL, so these will be passed by (although the Calligraphy one does look neat). In looking at all the things I do have, it is enough for now. Seems there are often new things to look at - need to use what I have first, and that will take a while!

You don't NEED the software to use any of these cartridges. It's only that people who did have the software got an unexpected "preview." These carts (well, maybe not the Potpourri one) will be hanging on a rack at your local craft store someday, just like the other cartridges.

Oh Hope, I wish you hadn't told me that!!!!! Need to talk myself out of buying - CKU - Hartford is a little over a month away, and I know their vendors will have too much to look at... and buy!!

Hope -- thanks for posting it! Especially the directions on what to do if you have SCAL! So are the pooh carts and the new Cars, Sesame St etc on the update?

No one posted screen shots of those, so I'm guessing not. There was a post about an "emergency meeting" for PC, because these cartridges weren't supposed to be in the update either, I guess.

I don't understand why Provocraft doesn't just BUY SCAL and save themselves the trouble of inventing something similar themselves - sooner or later they're going to HAVE to have the true type capability because their customers will demand it.

Ok, so since I don't have CDS on my Laptop (it's a MAC) and I just downloaded the trial version to my PC so I could update the firmware on my bug I should still be able to use SCAL on my laptop without any problem, right?
