Has anyone out there used an evaporative cooler to cool a tent during the summer heat? How well did it work? I am weighing the pros and cons of this vs. an ac unit.

I lived in California for 4 years where evaporative or "swamp" coolers were an alternative to ac. In order to work, you have to be in a dry area. Humidity will prevent the coolers from "evaporating". Use in Florida or PA is pretty much out of the question as far as effective cooling is concerned.

Thanks for the info. I guess Florida in June is pretty much the definition of humidity.
