Evacuated!

Got stuck on PoC in Disneyland for about an hour, in the dark, right before the 2 ships battling. I was preggo at the time, with bad bouts of morning sickness. luckily, i made it through without any problems :thumbsup2

We've never been evacuated but we did get stuck on Buzz Lightyear last June. Dh was happy as a clam though because the little lasers still worked so he ended up with 999,999 points

That same night we ended up stuck on the Winnie the Pooh ride but that was only for a few minutes.

We were evacuated on the old Horizons ride...She told us to come with her and we followed her down into the fabled underground tunnels of Epcot. We all walked a bit and ended up coming out on the side of the building.

What "fabled underground tunnels" does Epcot have?

WOW! Can someone fill me in on how they evacuate you from water rides like Splash and POTC?

The same way the CM's clean and service the attractions.

There is a pathway/walkway/stairway throughout virtually the entire length of all of these attractions.

A CM would come by to help you step out of the boat or log, and you'd be led along the pathway to the outside.

The Mummy Returns over at Universal Hollywood, the first week it opened. There was a loading gate problem and we had to walk out of the end of the ride (from the flame room).

That's it. Disney stuff always works for me.

Evacuated from Journey Into Imagination. Loved the photo op!
Stuck on Spaceship Earth a couple of times for about 15 minutes. Why is it always on the backward part?
Once got to see Space Mountain running with the lights on while riding TTA. It was neat to see how the tracks intersect all over the place!

On Spaceship Earth for about 20 minutes and on Space mountain we saw it with all the lights on too!

Space mountain lights on.
Splash Mountain no animatronics or sound, but the ride completed...it was like a ghost town...lol.

Oh yeah, Spiderman broke at IOA. I actually closed my eyes a bit because none of the effects were on and it was ruining it for me. I'm cheesy that way. :confused3

Me too. Spiderman at IOA with no special effects. Very wierd.

Dinosaur at AK - we got escorted out.

Space Mountain with the lights on. It is not so scary with the lights on.

Last year I was evacuated on Tower of Terror. It was right before the drop and I kept waiting and waiting. 5 minutes later the lights came on and cast members had to come out and push our elevator backwards through the shaft with all the lights on. It looks pretty boring. They brought over a set of steps and walked us out of the elevator to in turn use a real elevator back down to the hotel lobby. Kind of cool to see how everything worked inside but at the same time it really can ruin a ride. We didn't even get a fastpass for our troubles. They just took us up to the front of the line to ride again.

Christmas Morning 2005, MK lost power to all rides while we were on Buzz Lightyear. Two interesting points...

one, there were no emergency lights inside the building and it was pitch black. WDW being there own Governing body and Building Department can make whatever rules they want and I guess they feel emergency lighting is not necessary.

two, it appeared that only one leg of a three phase electrical system was down therefore there was still power running to parts of the attraction that were not on that leg. So you are sitting there in the dark and you can still hear the robot arms and other things moving in the darkness.

The Curse of Kong. Ours stopped for a moment once and I was afraid we were going to be evacuated. It was right before the "bug scene." Luckily, the ride started up right after and kept going.

I am always afraid of being trapped on a ride when it stops I am in a panic

We got evacuated off of POtC last October, snapped a few pictures too. It wasn't too bad, the CM's got into the water (wearing thigh-high rubber waders) and pushed the boats over toward a door. The worst part was seeing the CM area behind the attractions!

Someone didnt say good morning to George-huh? pirate:

Dh and I got stuck on Buzz lightyear, right in the tube with the astroids ..Our scores were lost when it finally started up again but it was very plain in that area with the lights on.. Dh was more worried about his score because he was actually beating me for once :rotfl:

Well never evacuted but did get stuck in POC for about 20 minutes right at the spot that says Dead Men tell no tales. We heard that over and over and over again. Got to see maintenance workers working on the attraction. But forever I will be haunted by Dead Men tell no tails.

My Dh hates small world though we never physically got stuck we were stuck behind a kid who screamed and screamed loudly through the entire ride. :)

Last month DH and DS were strapped into EE when they were told the computer crashed and they had to leave. After leaving the building we saw that the train that left before theirs was stuck at the top of the incline. A CM had to walk them down a stairway next to the ride with just a rope to hold onto. They were so lucky they didn't get on 2 minutes sooner.

I've been stuck on countless rides, at least one a day every time I visit WDW (I think I jinx the parks or something...) but I've only been evacuated on the People Mover (TTA) once.

I found a pic of the evacuation from POtC in Oct. 2005. I don't think its too much of a spoiler .. you can see the cast members in the water guiding the boats and the people off-loading at the door. The offload point was just prior to the "We wants the red-head!" scene.

Cool picture to have! Thanks for sharing it.
