I DID TOO!! I saw the weird face but I thought that maybe it was the lighting. I wouldn't want to think of anything like that in DL.

WOW! They weren't fooling around were they! Did they turn on the lights so you could get out? I always imagined that they must be a light switch some where for the whole place! LOL! That would really ruin the magic!! It's my favorite ride I might have to close my eyes if I had to be evacuated!

cool pictues, i remember my last trip my dad and i were stuck forever on space mountain. they turned the lights on and i completely forgot to take pictures but it was really cool seeing everything though! but yeah at first they wouldnt tell us what was wrong (it was some manager lady) but as we were walking out after we were evacuated this other guy was talking to us and said that we were stopped because some wackjob had jumped out of a rocket just before it left and then aparently ran into the ride area. that isnt the first i've heard of people doing that- maybe it was a similar situation with you guys?

I am glad that I got to take the photos. I was surprised that they didn't say anything about not taking photos. A lot of people had their phones out, taking photos. I guess no one uses a camera anymore, just phones .

Yes, we were given a pass that could be used on ANY ride (FP or not). We used it on Toy Story Mania.

We were evacuated from Alice and Splash once...and they didn't give us jack diddly squat.

Cool photos and it makes an interesting story to tell. I really love that ride and especially at night, but that ride really needs an over haul. Big Thunder seems to go down more then any other ride. They need to focus some major time and money on that ride and fix the major problems they seem to keep coming in contact with.

Well, it just got that major refurb at WDW so maybe they are eying DLR next. And funny because years ago it was Space Mountain and HM that broke down ALL.THE.TIME. My brother was working Space Mountain then and would grouse about how often it broke down.

LOL! Actually now that you mention it, Space does go down somewhat frequently. There have been a few times where I've been turned away.

Thats super creepy! Especially since thats right around where that guy was killed on the ride in 2003!

I have only been evacuated from that ride once and it was right before it pulled into the loading area! lol So my experience definitely wasn't as cool as yours!

We got stuck on a part where the lights are turned off and the jeep "broke down," but it didn't start up again.

At first I was like "this is part of the ride" after a few minutes of not moving I was like "wait a minute....... "

It was kinda scary cuz we were in the dark the entire time.

Not evacuated though .
