Evacuated from Thunder Mountain

We were evacuated from Big Thunder Mountain on Monday April 9th. These are some of the photos I took of our evacuation.

It's nice to see some pics of BTMRR being evacuated. Just like your pics, I got stuck on the 2nd chain lift of BTMRR and had to be evacuated with other guests.

Great photographs! I'd heard they don't let people take photos when being evacuated. I'm glad you got such great photos!

Have you ridden BTMRR enough times that you enjoyed being evacuated?

When Big Thunder first opened, it kept having problems for awhile. We got evacuated off twice on the same trip! The CM's said birds would fly through the tunnel that goes up (the mine shaft) and the sensors that detect if someone is standing up would be tripped by the birds. Apparently it happened more often back then.

Not sure why it happened with OP.

They never said, but it couldn't be anything too major, it was reopened later that day.

They didn't tell us not to take photos.

There's one ride that's wilder -- sitting on the potty on the Magical Express bus from the Orlando airport to WDW.

I showed my DS10 your pics and he said, "Lucky." Good for you for taking so many pictures during the evacuation. I've always been told "no" by CMs whenever I tried during a mid-ride evacuation. I got to walk through the Matterhorn once, and that would've been so cool to snap a few pictures. Thanks for sharing.

I agree, the pictures of the sinage are super rare. The evac in general rare.

I DID TOO!! I saw the weird face but I thought that maybe it was the lighting. I wouldn't want to think of anything like that in DL.
