Evacuated from the mine train today

This afternoon we were riding the seven drawfs mine train when we suddenly stopped. No big deal we thought. Then we sat and sat and sat. We were in the sun. So we waved to people looking at us and then they said they had to evacuate us. That took a while. No idea what happened but they said it would be down for hours. Took some cool pictures and videos too. Also got a nice sun burn.

At least when we got stuck on & evacuated from Space Mtn we were inside out of the sun!! It was pretty cool to see the inside of Space Mtn with the lights on.

They let you take pictures back stage? When I was evacuated from BTMR they specifically told us we had to put our cameras and phones away.

I thought maybe OP just meant pictures from wherever they were stuck, not necessarily backstage. We were stuck on Pirates for more than an hour last year and had to be evacuated. They told us that if we took photos, CMs would take our devices to delete them (which I'm pretty sure they couldn't legally do, but whatever. Just get me out of here and give me my extra FPs! LOL)

Technically they legally can force you to delete them and if not they could sue you and they would win. Your taking photos of protected IP and they reserve the right etc and so forth. Crazy I know but they can if they wanted.

Interesting. I wasn't taking photos anyway (I'm a rule follower) I believe you, but it just seems crazy to me, as we weren't trespassing or doing anything wrong at the time. Heck, if anything, we were being held hostage! Yes, I'm sure they could sue (and would win), and I definitely think they would kick offenders out of the park, but I didn't think they would/could wrestle a phone away from someone if they refused to give it up or delete photos. I guess that was my point. But telling us CMs would confiscate cameras is probably more effective than warning us that we will be sued later. Believe me, the possibility of being banned from WDW is MUCH more devastating than threats of police or lawsuits.

It's funny how they don't want peope taking pictures when getting evacuated but they think it's ok to route people through that parking lot on that "Main Street Bypass" where you can see dumpsters and trucks. I even saw a worker in a dingy shed reaching into a gigantic barrel and putting cotton candy into bags.

DH and I got stuck on 7DMT when we were there last month. We stop going up the incline for the biggest drop. We wait 5-10 minutes before a cast member came out. Once the cast member came out, he said to put the cameras away as we weren't allowed to take any more pictures or video. I was able to get a picture of DH and I (with the lights on) before the CM arrived. We got free fast passes because of it. It was our first time being evacuated from a ride.

We were stuck about 25 minutes or more. It was in the heat of the day, and I hadn't put on sun screen.
The CM never said anything about taking pictures. I didn't get any backstage.

I've only gotten stuck once, and I was happy that I had ridden in the front for ee, because half the train was in and half out in the sun and it was July....(ps, never July.)
