Hi all,

Has anybody paid for their Eurotunnel (either in full or part) with Tesco Clubcard vouchers?
I'm finding the Eurotunnel quotes quite pricey (£200 return) and I think I have enough vouchers to bring it down to what I would pay for the ferry.
I don't see any option on the website to input voucher details - do I have to call them to use the vouchers?

Thanks in advance for your help.

We have paid for Eurotunnel with Tesco clubcard deals.

You need to phone the number from the Deals website to book with vouchers. Make sure you have them before phoning as you will need the serial numbers and cannot add additional vouchers afterwards :)

Thanks Reid, I thought you might know:)
Does that mean I can part pay then? I don't need the full amount in vouchers.

Hi
Sorry for butting in...
but it's an answer I know!!

Yes, you can part pay with vouchers and whatever Credit/debit card you have.
I did that this year, was going to pay all in with Deals but it worked out at not cost efective (whatever time we booked!) so ended up paying £1 with debit card and the rest in vouchers. Bargain.
When you call you will need all the details of the times you want, and your car details. The information that comes with the Tesco Deals vouchers will have all the details on it, including the number you call, what details to have handy etc...

Hope that helps.

Thats very helpful, thank you very much.
You weren't butting in at all - thats a fantastic contribution, I've ordered my vouchers :thumbsup2

Hi Joanne

Just one thing to be aware of - it's caught me out before  - there are a limited amount of Eurotunnel slots for Clubcard customers. I have ordered my vouchers before and by the time they have come the time/date I wanted has gone. If you are booking a way in advance though you should be OK.

A couple of times we have turned up early at Folkestone or Calais and been offered an earlier train at no extra charge, which has got me wondering - if the time/date I want isn't available with Clubcard at the time of booking, could I just book a later slot that is available, turn up early and hopefully be offered an earlier train on the day??? Not been brave enough to try out this theory tho :rolleyes1

We really like the Eurotunnel-fast and efficient, I now prefer it to the ferry, much less faffing about! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info, I ordered the vouchers yesterday and they usually come pretty quickly so I'll book it straight away:thumbsup2
We are going end of May so hopefully I should be okay.
I am choosing an early train going and a later train coming home to keep the costs down, so I don't think I'll be testing your earlier train therory, but thanks for the tip!

Another thing to watch out for - after booking over the phone, you have only 4 days to get your vouchers to Eurotunnel. They recommend posting them the same day by special delivery to ensure you can track them if they go missing.
This is what we did last week when booking for August.

By conincidence I was reading this thread yesterday and also looking on the Eurotunnel website. I found a great return price of £49 going out 7th and back 9th April, so thought I would ring the booking line and enquire about avaialblity using clubcard deals vouchers, yes they have availablity of those dates, but they wanted to charge me nearly £150 instead!!!!

Why does that not surprise me:mad:

I have booked using clubcard vouchers for April and the price the lady quoted on the phone was exactly the same as the price i got on the internet. It was £160 return so £40 in vouchers :thumbsup2

Yep, I've booked two years running using vouchers and the price has always been the same as the web one. Not sure why they quoted more for you.

The prices are definitely the same on the website as the phone.

Prices are quoted for each way and depend upon outward and inward times - the cheapest I have ever seen was £ 39 each way

Out 7th April and returning 9th April is minimum £110 and that is for unsociable times - what times did you ask for ?

Also the prices do change - only ever seen increases !

we use our tesco vouchers for the eurotunnel all the time, even signed up for a tesco credit card and now spend all money on this and then pay it off at the end of each month, managed to get £30 a quarter! the last 2 times we went i booked the 10 something crossing *** it was cheaper and then got there for 8.30 and got on the crossing at 8.30 - 9 ish which was the dearer one!

Thanks for all the info:thumbsup2
I booked with my Tesco vouchers today:cool1: The price was the same as I had looked at on the website - £178 return, I had £80 in vouchers so I'm quite happy with paying £98 for a return during bank holiday and half term week:thumbsup2
They advised me to send the vouchers special delivery which I did but it cost me £4.60:scared1: :scared1:

Has anyone booked Eurotunnel using Tesco Vouchers in the name of someone not travelling?
