I've got the indirect service changing at Lille on the way to our magic holiday :yay:

Firsty at Waterloo do we have to load our luggage on the train near our carriage?

Secondly Is it obvious where to go for next train at Lille, and I take it we have to look after our luggage unloading and loading?

Im new to eurostar and so i just want to be prepared for the journey to take any stress away from my gf so she can relax

Has anyone done this who can help?

thank you :worship: for your help

Yes, keep your luggage in the compartment nearby when you load it into the train at St Pancras (don't go to Waterloo!) ;) It's just like travelling on a domestic train - you keep your luggage with you. When you get off at Lille, you will need to take your luggage as well.

It is VERY easy to see where to get on the next train from Lille - it is literally on the next platform along if I remember correctly. We had a double-decker train last time and we had plenty of time to change, but not so long that we got bored. ;) The train we changed to also seemed very quiet.

Have a brilliant time!

As you go through the doors on the Eurostar there are luggage racks on right by the doors. That's where you put the suitcases etc.

In terms of changing at Lille I can't help with that as we have only ever gone direct.

I assume this a mistake, but just in case it's not - The Eurostar now leaves from London St. Pancras, not London Waterloo.

You keep hold of your luggage right until you get on the train. At that point, there a couple of large racks at either end of the carriage, so you just put your luggage in there, then go to your seat. When you get to your destination (Lille in your case), you collect your luggage from the rack and get off the train.

I can't help you with the change though, because I've always taken the direct service.

thanks you all for your help, it has given me a great insight into what to expect. Especially now i'll be going to the right station in the first place!! doh

If it's the next platform along then hopefully i shouldn't get too lost

Thank you, just need to watch my ticker count down now and book my meal reservations!

now do i do the lucky nugget character meal or the plaza garden tea party hmmmmmmmm
