I have a trip to DLP October 2-4th 2025 and will be taking the Eurostar from St Pancras. The price for the Eurostar is about the same to Lille or Gare Du Nord (it's $4 cheaper to go via Gare Du Nord) and I am used Virgin Atlantic miles to purchase vouchers.

What would you choose or what have you done in the past and would you change anything? We are 2 adults and will have 2 suitcases total and staying at the Disneyland Hotel.
  • Eurostar to Gare Du Nord and then the RER would cost 5 Euro for 2 people and require 2 changes and take a total of 3hr 28 mins.
  • Eurostar to Lille and then using trainline to Marne De Chessy would cost 28,62 Euro for 2 people (currently the cheapest fare I see) and take a total or 3 hours.

Haven't done this specific route but I would argue a shorter commute is worth the extra 20 euros. I would double check that your luggage is permitted on the more regional trains.

I agree. We've done a good bit of European train travel the past 3 years, and the fewer changes the better, even if it costs a little more. We've taken the Eurostar from St. Pancras b4 - you will need to get reservations.

Don't know if you're a Potterhead, but St. Pancras is right across the street from King's Cross Station, where is located Platform 9 3/4. Worth taking the extra 30 minutes to have a look.

You mentioned 'suitcases' - I assume you mean the wheeled luggage bags, which are VERY handy when you have to tote your own. We travel with one bag and backpack each, and have had no problems all over Europe.

Another suggestion. There are many, many YouTube videos that you can watch that cover just about every route, station, train, or airport. Worth watching.

This site is also very helpful. https://www.seat61.com/

Thanks for the feedback. We are staying at an Airbnb near Kings Cross and will take the train from there a few times and will be sure to check out platform 9 3/4. We are at the 6 month mark and I will be booking reserved seats for the Eurostar once I get my VA vouchers :-).

Don't know if you've been to London b4, but we've been twice and before our 2nd trip, we took time to learn how to use the 'underground.' VERY MUCH worth the effort. A huge time-saver if you're doing any significant sight-seeing there.

Hi, My mother is English and I've been several times and just got back a couple of days ago from 10 days in Edinburgh and Manchester but I've never been to Paris. If traveling on the train, the Railcards are a good investment. My husband has never been out of the Country and for our October 2020 Honeymoon I booked a trip to London and Paris and we all know what happened....this trip is to celebrate our 5th anniversary.

Just to remind everyone that UK is £ sterling & France is € Euros

Also You will need European Travel Plugs

We're leaving a week from tomorrow on an extended European trip, all rail, save the flight from the US and back. This will be the third time we've used Eurail and I'm sold on it.

If there were a set of rails across (or under) the Atlantic Ocean, we would take the train. I hate airports and air travel!!

My Mother takes the QM2 cruise ship from Southampton to NYC and then sometimes takes the train from NYC to Los Angeles.
