How easy is this?

Does anyone check the tickets after Lille as it's the same train as the direct one isn't it? Wonder if I'd get found out if I just stayed on the train and claim I forgot to change because of Kacee kicking off :-)

So it's teh direct train - but you ahve to get off?

Wierd!!

I don;t remeber my tickets beign checked at all other than when I got on the train.

Aye..checked the times and everything and its the direct train, just changing at Lille for the TGV, worked out at £56 cheaper to do it that way :thumbsup2

I can let you know for sure in a 2 weeks though.

This is interesting!

When we travelled on the direct train, on Boxing Day, there was an announcement to say that some travel agents had sold passengers tickets that involved a chance at Lille. However, as they had no passengers joining the train at Lille, those whose final destination was DLP were welcome to stay on board!

I wonder if they sell these tickets cheaper in the hope that someone might want to book the train from Lille to DLP only? If this does not follow, then chances are you'll be able to stay on the train regardless! If there is no announcement made, then I would be wary of staying on, as you might be sat in someone else's seat :rolleyes1

Haha, definitely!

I recon you'd be fine staying on though. Never seen anyone get on at Lille.

We got off at Ashford instead of St Pancras on the way back, and the staff didnt mind one bit - I asked if we were allowed, and tehy were like 'yes, of course'

But I guess maybe staying on is different.

But if you do break the rules, what are they gonna do? Kick you off at the next stop! Shame! :rotfl:

it would be great if you got that announcement lol

does it take longer if you get off at lille?

Yes because you ahve to wait for your next train, and i guess its not as fast a service as the eurostar. Might have stops.

ONly by half an hour, which is the transfer time at Lille, the time on a train is exactly the same.

Same thing happened to my bro & family when they went in October. They were allowed to stay on. Hope this will be the case for you.

I hope so, will make it easier for me and Kacee. I was going to just book the direct train but this is supposed to be a budget holiday...so much so that I only have 100 euros to spend in the three days that we are there!

When I went a couple of years back on the direct service, it didn't stop & there was no announcement.

I'm not sure if it is always the same train or one they use for the Lille service.

If Kacee unfortunately created at the time you had to change at Lille but because you were fully concentrating on your little fella that you didn't realise then im sure you'd end up at DLP fine. As long as it is definately the right train, claiming ignorance im sure would be just. Depending on how many were on the platform waiting to come on im sure if the situation arised you'd be fine

Our direct service stopped at ashford and lille on the way to and from DLRP in July.

The Lille to DLRP stretch seems Sooooo long! I thought it wasn't far! But it was! I was glued to the window the whole time.

Shame they don't stop at Ebsfleet!

Our train stopped at Lille in both directions, and I don't think tickets were checked.

It has always stopped at Ashford, as the direct service offers the choice of where you leave from You can go to Disney from Ebsfleet it is indirect service though.

I just checked and both the direct train (9074) and the stopper (9074) are the same train to Lille :thumbsup2
