I've been a bit rash & possibly regretting the haste, but we're going back to Disney in March :banana::banana:

I didn't realise til the confirmation came through that we're changing at Lille, both legs. So what's it like?

Is there anything to do I.e. eat / drink, occupy a 2 year old.

It's about an hour and half both legs. In the evening.

I live a few miles from Lille, so ...

there are 2 train stations in Lille, one is Lille-europe, the other is Lille-flandres, anyway they're litteraly across the street from one another.

Between those 2 stations you will find the Euralille shopping center.
From Lille Europe it's on the right of the station and across the Francois Mitterand Plaza (2 or 3 minutes walk), and from Lille Flandres you'll need to cross the street (there is also an underground passageway in the subway station just under the train station - but I think you'll stop in Lille Europe)

Euralille will provide you with various restaurants (sandwiches and fast food mostly) as well as shops and a Carrefour (don't know about luggages though, always keep an eye on them.
link to Euralille : http://www.euralille.com/W/do/centre/accueil

Euralille is opened until 8PM

There is a MacDonalds on the far right of Lille Flandres if everything else is closed.

There is a park outside Lille Europe, I would advise you to stay clear of this area when it's dark.

Lille Europe will only get you basic service. You might find sandwiches (depending on the time of day), a Relay (newspaper stand) and some shops, but nothing to write home about.

here's a map of both stations and Centre Euralille

Great information there - we're changing from Europe to Flandres because it worked out about £250 cheaper so that's a good, reassuring post!

we had a lille change on the way there in November. I was a bit worried about it but to be honest it was not a problem. The platforms were well signposted and we easily found our way to the section of the train by looking on the digital train map on the platform.

We are changing at Lille too when we go in march, we've done it before 3-4 times & it's really not that difficult. The time does drag a fair bit on the way there, but we just find somewhere to sit & wait for the train, on the way back you have to go through check in & security, so that takes up most of the time while waiting for the train.
It is all clearly signposted & easy to see which platform you need, but be warned the trains don't stop for long so get on the train as quick as you can! I'm worrying a bit about this as we have had another baby, so we are 2 adults & 6 children (aged 12, 9, 8, 5, 4 & 10 months) so worried we won't get the kids, luggage & pushchair on the train quick enough!!
