Europe Retain the Ryder Cup

It has been a really interesting competition this weekend. Me and DH have been glued to the telly (not literally) and a few moments ago Big Colin Montgomery stepped up and won us the final point that we needed to retain the cup. The Europeans have played really well as a team and the American have had a few good moments too like Tiger Woods.

So congratulations Europe !!!

I think at 18.5 to 9.5 i think it is hardly retain. It was a total walkover.

We've also spent all weekend in front of the TV. Before it started, I wasn't sure which team I wanted to win, but as soon as they teed off, I found myself rooting for Europe. Guess I'm more patriotic than I realise!

It was a fantastic competition, throughly enjoyed it all weekend and even sat up till midnight last night to watch the closing cermony when I have work on a Monday . The Europeans played brilliantly and deserved to win and it was fantastic for Monty to score the winning point

We stayed up to watch the closing ceremony too. I am glad Monty won it with his final shot!! Sweet.. after his treatment in other Ryder Cup Comps... Well done lads and in their own back yard.

I watched the competition from start to finish and I was thrilled with the Europoean performance. The guys really competed as a team rather than a group of individuals forced to play with one another.

I don't think DW was too enamoured with watching 10 or 11 hours of golf three days in a row, but it does only happen once every 2 years

Then again if I can make her watch enough of it she might get brainwashed by it and and offer to carry my bag when I go out to play

Hi,
Whilst I enjoy the Ryder cup I do find it extremely difficult to cheer on a "European" team. I am a passionate Euro sceptic and wished we still had the old GBI team. Oh well at least most of the team were either British or Irish. Sorry about the rant but every time I see the Euro flag it just reminds me of the current government selling our country down the river..!! ( IMHO )
