Key points

EURO DISNEY S.C.A.
Reports Fiscal Year 2012 Results
• Total revenues up 2% to € 1.3 billion, reflecting record 16 million attendance and higher guest spending
• EBITDA decreased by € 7 million to € 177 million, primarily due to lower real estate activity
• 20th Anniversary celebration contributed to a second semester 5% increase in revenues and 10% increase in EBITDA
• Net loss increased by € 36 million mainly due to a € 32 million non-recurring impact of the refinancing of
the Group’s debt
• The successful debt refinancing decreases the cost of debt and brings additional investment flexibility to grow the business

Big news from the conference call is new hotels in the planning stage for 2016/17 - one moderate and one luxury. One could assume that they have big development plans for the next 5 years to necessitate 2 more hotels. Star Wars Land anyone? :D

The President of Euro Disney Philippe Gas has confirmed this morning that new hotels theme "Disney" (and not "geographic" as was the case until today) are being developed for Disneyland Paris. The first category economic/moderate, is planned for the year 2016/2017. The second will be oriented towards the luxury guests, and will be "near a park". It could be an extension of a hotel (Disneyland Hotel?) or of a new facility.

They are going to have to get a move on building it so we should know shortly what and where it's going to be :goodvibes

It seems more and more viable that Star Wars land will come. With it perhaps a luxury hotel attached (or near) as they have hinted? They must be confident they can fill the hotels though - I know guest occupation is up, but a lot of people still stay offsite and can't afford luxury prices. Do you think there is enough scope for another 'luxury' hotel at DLRP? Clearly, they do - and with the upgrade of 'Clubs' at NPB and SL, luxury (or deluxe) choice will be aplenty! I suppose get the new 'gate' right and it could work very well.

There were plans a while ago for another hotel over looking Lake Disney on the empty side and a Walt Disney Studios Hotel which would face the back of the WDS.

The old rumoured hotel which was to go in the gap between NPB and Disney Village was to be a deluxe but was going to predominantly be a business hotel used for conferences.

I wonder if that's still the plan.

Yes thats right, the plan was to stop using all the big tents they have around the resort. There is one next to Star Tours and one in the Village and build another convention centre hotel.

Its interesting that he actually announced the plans.

They have a nasty habit normally of denial, build it - pretend that we can't see then building it - and finally announce it like some surprise.
