I really want to have have Mr. Littles' first haircut at Harmony, but I don't think we can make it until October. I am really digging his full head of hair as he can sport quite the quaff, but the ends are too uneven and borderline ratty to let go any longer. So, can we justify getting the first haircut package as a first haircut at Disney, or it that just a dressed-up lie and thus a horribly manipulative, immoral example to set for a minor?

Will it be his first haircut at Disney? If so I wouldn't worry about it. I doubt that they will ask you if it is his first haircut.

We had to trim DS's bangs before his first haircut. I'm pretty sure most people have. Don't give it a second thought, do the first haircut. Make sure that your have someplace to put the stuff that comes with the package so it doesn't get messed up throughout the day.

I cut DS's a number of times - but Disney was his first real haircut so that counted for me. As an aside - I'm still cutting his hair but have advanced from just trimming his baby hair out of his eyes to full on buzz cuts. I just know he won't sit still for anyone.

They are amazing at the Harmony shop - we paid attention and try to mimic some of their distraction tactics!

It really doesn't matter, it's not like you have to prove anything. Besides, it's his first haircut AT Disney. I'm sure there will be many more in the future!

(Although, if an older person comes in claiming it's their first haircut, that's a little suspect!)

I think that it totally fine. My oldest did get her actual first haircut at Disney. The first haircut package is a few $ more. You specify that is what you want. No one asks if it is really their first haircut.

What about a 4 year old, would that be suspicious? lol

IMO, it's fine. You're paying for the package.

The only person this really effects is you, as I'm pretty sure they don't care if it's his actual first haircut or not. But I see where you're coming from, I'd probably feel the same way.

Personally I'd trim his hair myself until his first "official" haircut. You could even let them know it's his first time at an official barbershop, like others said I'm sure many others do it this way.

My younger son had obviously had his hair cut before (we adopted him at 2 and when we met him his head was practically shaved) but it was his first haircut with us. He didn't even really need his hair cut, but I really wanted the experience and it was great! No one batted an eye at our request for the "first haircut" package.

My oldest did not have a haircut until she was 4... So age isn't always an indicator. I really want my 2 year olds first cut to be at Harmony, but the timing hasn't worked for us yet. Meanwhile, I just pull it back into pigtails. Easier to delay for a girl, I know!
