Planning my first big Disney Adventure in June with my wife and 7 year old daughter. Made dinning reservations and now looking toward making a touring plans for MK, AK, and Epcot. My question is how long should I expect it to take to get from The polly by monorail to Mk, thru bag check and down Main Street to castle stage. I have a 7:35 brkfast reservation at Kona and don't think I could make it to the stage by rope drop time. Should I try and move brkfast back another 1/2 hour or just go with it. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Be prepared for the monorail to be down (it happens sometimes). You'd have to take the boat instead.

If it's running perfectly I'd say from the time you board the monorail til the time you reach the castle it would be about 30 minutes (if bag check line is reasonable). However you are going in the morning at prime time (rope drop) so bag check might take a while. You could be in line for 20 minutes or more.

Try not to bring any bags. Stuff everything in your cargo shorts pockets. We even put our bag in there and then take everything out after we go through the entrance.

If rope drop is important, skip breakfast.

I agree. Choose your priority and then schedule the other as a bonus. I've had terrible transportation problems Poly to/from MK. When the monorail breaks down, the boats and buses get really backed up. If all goes well, you should be fine, but I wouldn't set my heart on a perfect transportation plan.

If you really want to eat at Kona and see the opening show, I would try to get an earlier reservation at Kona.

Take the resort launch. Five minutes from the Poly to the MK dock. Five to 10 to get through security the 10 minutes to get to the castle. So, 20-25 minutes travel time.

Thanks for the input guys, really helpful. Breakfast is a must, my girls travel on there stomachs. My intent was to try and figure out how early to schedule my fast passes and if I had time to try and catch some of my B rides before the crowds start to build too badly, or if I should try and push brkfast back to give me more time.

I concur with the poster who suggested the resort launch. Quicker and less likely to be down than the monorail these days. Plus the unload is closer to the main gate than the mass exodus of the monorail.

I wouldn't necessarily say that.
Certainly wouldn't list it as a special reason to take the shuttle boat.

Besides, on the POLY side of things, the walk from the restaurant to the boat dock is a BIG deal,
compared to the Poly monorail boarding area.

Also, those little shuttle boats can't handle a lot of guests, and they are shared with the Grand Floridian.
At a busy time of day, guests may have to wait for another boat if the first one to stop by is full.

I would never get any FP for the first 60-90 minutes the park opens

like other have said it maybe doable it may not I would try to move your ADR up enjoy breakfast ( with out looking at your phone or watch for the time ) and when you are ready to leave go to the monorail and then go thought bag check and what ever time you get there you get there I think if you have a 7am time and you really enjoy breakfast you should be out by 8:15( I have done some charter meal and have been out in an hour but I have not been here) if the monorail is backed up and you have to wait for 20 minutes that would get you to bag check around 8:45 and into the park right around 8:55 so you would be just at the tail end of rope drop and most people head to 7DMT at this time and if you have a FP for it then you do not have to worry about it.

Thanks guys for all the help, I am trying to get my brkfst pushed back but if that's not possible its no biggie
