I went and bought ET on DVD at Wal-Mart last night. Not only was it only $13.88, but it has the 2002 release, plus the original 1982 release. I think I'm gonna watch the original first. The 2002 release left out the scene where ET's drinking and Elliot feels it in school.

They left that out??? That's like one of the funniest parts of the movie! I heard they took the guns out near the end of the movie and replaced them with walkie talkies. I didn't see it when they released it in the theater I wanted to take my daughter to go see it because she was about the same age I was when I saw it in the theater...but I decided to let her see the video first and it made her have a bad dream and ever since then she can't stand ET.

I guess I'll be going to Wal-Mart to get my copy

I can't believe they left it out either. It is one of the greatest parts of the movie.

I think it's great you get both versions too! I didnt' remember them cutting that part out though, so I just quick ran through the scene selection of the new version, and it is defintitely still there, so you can enjoy both versions!!!

I have that on my Christmas list! I love that movie!

I also can't believe they left that part out. I love that part!
