Maybe we missed something but why do you give them your name and get a card. Didn't see it used after it was scanned.

The kids and I go around all day imitating the croaky voice of the ET that says our names at the end.

That's funny, you know this feature always seems out of que or something, I don't think I have ever heard my name called.

I have found two things.....

1) i think you can hear your name better from the back row.

2) i think that only easy or "normal" names will work. We have tried all sorts of names, and only the standard, "bill, mary, jane, jim" ones seem to work.

We usually hear our names which are not standard but not uncommon either. I've found that the "different" names are pronounced phonetically and are not always legible. Also, because all the names of the people in the vehicle get run together (goodbye Joe, Bob, Mary, Alice, Peter, Tom, Bill, Nancy) it can get tough to hear the distinction between the names.

I also think that the names are entered phonetically and not necessarily by their correct spelling, so if the data entry person doesn't enter them correctly, it doesn't come out right.

It's actually a database of names that they work out of. If the team member starts typing the name the database shrinks until it gets to the right name or realizes the name doesn't exist in the database. If it doesn't exist then the team member will either pick the closest one or go to the default which has ET just say say the generic 'goodbye friend.' The database is pretty large but does not have every name ever created and since it was made early 90s does not have the modern popular names like Neveah and so forth. It also doesn't have anything that sounds like a curse word. (You can't have person 1 named Fa and person 2 named Q for example...and yes, people tried all the time)
