ESTA - application won't proceed as passport apparently not eligible!

Trying to sort the DCs ESTAs after receiving their passports a few days ago but the application says the passport number is ineligible (it's definitely right - new, chipped passport and triple checked the number).

Has this happened to anyone else? Is this just because it's a brand new passport? Help!

Nope. Still showing as not eligible which is a bit worrying.

DH and I travel to the states a lot so always have a valid ESTA, but the kids haven't been since 2012 - and I figured it would be fine to leave it until the last minute as it was seriously unlikely they'd be denied an ESTA!

I'm going to try again in a few more days and not stress (honest)

Here is an idea ....

Ask another member of your family or maybe a friend to fill in the

application Or "look over your shoulder " while you do it again .

........... Try filling in on another Laptop

I think the Numbers are on the right hand side

So I did it on my laptop, rather than iPad - all three went through.

No approval yet but at least the applications are gone!

that's a relief!!! what a good idea to try a different computer..
when i have trouble with government websites, it often helps to switch browsers...
some government websites can only interact with certain browsers (e.g explorer vs chrome, etc.)

So relieved for you. I'm not sure why but doing out ESTA's really stressed me out
