My family was on the same Esprit de France adventure as tsgirl. You can find her trip report here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2974424
She wrote a great trip report, and there's not much I can add. I'll just say it was a wonderful trip to a beautiful area of France that I had never visited before. It was our first ABD, and we had the best time. The guides and everyone on our group was were so great. My only main criticism would be a few of the meals. Having never been on an ABD before it is impossible for me to compare, but speaking with others, reading trip reports, and listening to the podcast, it strikes me as food continues to be ABD's main weakness. I for one would rather pay more and get a higher quality of food if necessary. But we did had a number of very good meals particularly some of the lunches. Also, if were up to me I'd add another night in both Normandy and Loire (maybe just cut Paris out). Now we fell in love with Paris, and it's now one of my favorite cities, but it's so easy to do on your own. I just loved both Normandy and Loire, I wanted to see more. And these more out of the way locals seem to be where ABD shines. Overall, it was a wonderful trip and I've already highly recommended it to friends back home, so count me as a new raving ABD fan. Can't wait for the next one. So here's some more pictures from the trip:
Day 1 - Versailles:
Trianon Palace Hotel
Day 2 - Versailles, Giverny
Monet's Garden
Everyone showing off their artistic side...
Royal Barriere Hotel (home sweet home for the next 2 nights)
Rained just a bit on our way to dinner.
Speaking of dinner, I will stop there for now.
