I thought that I had posted this before when I first started planning in Aug (last year) but I can't find the subscription.... any how....

I am thinking of going to the ESPN Zone on the boardwalk and am wonderinging a few things...

Does it take the DP?

Does it take Disney Gift Cards or Visa Rewards?

Thanks folks:)

ESPN does accept Disney rewards cards (and presumably Disney gift cards as well, but I don't know that for sure).

That being said - stay away from this place! The food is truly horrible. After several bad experiences, this is the one place at WDW that I have vowed never to return to.

But the food there is very cheap! (and not so good) with very little variey, (i think the only sides you can get are fries or cucumber salad.

Im on the DDP for my next trip and we will be stopping here for lunch but we will just be paying cash since we felt we could use out DDP on more expensive options for dinner.

You should also keep in mind that this is an ESPN Club, not a Zone. It's much smaller and more crowded than your average large city ESPN Zone, and the restaurant and bar areas are split into different, distinct sections.

If you have an actual ESPN Zone that you've been to in mind for what to expect from the place, you might be a little disappointed.

We actually enjoyed our meal there the time we went. It is loud as they have a radio show in there (At least they did when we went) The food is typical to any chain restaurant, and as good as most other places in Disney. There are tvs to watch, and it seemed pretty big inside to us. Enjoy your meal if you go.

It does take the DDP but you cannot make ADR's.
We had lunch there for the first time this past August and LOVED it.
Not sure that I would agree with the food being cheap with very little variety though. :confused3
This is not gourmet food by any means, but I would say it is very good bar food. DH had the Rack 'em-Ribs with the Fixins - Ribs with Sweet and Tangy Barbecue Sauce served with Coleslaw, Corn on the Cob, and your choice of Cucumber Salad or French Fries. It was a HUGE plate of food (at $20.99 I wouldn't consider this a cheap meal).
I had the Extreme Reuben Sandwich and it was one of the best I have ever had.
We were so full from our meals that we didn't even attempt dessert.

We went there for dinner last week and thought it was good. My dh got a Philly Steak and Cheese, ds got buffalo wings and dd and I split a turkey sandwich with cranberries, goat cheese, seasoned mayonaise on a herb foccacia. Yum! It was a night where we were kind of wandering around looking for something to eat later in the night because we weren't hungry earlier and they had no wait so we tried it. It wasn't my favorite of the week, but for a walk in sit down meal on the fly....it didn't disappoint! ;)

We ate there last May and really enjoyed it. They don't take reservations but as long as there aren't any big games/playoffs going on you should be fine. We're looking forward to going back this year, the only negative if I remember correctly is that they did not offer a kids menu (if that applies), we just ordered one regular plate and split it between our two.

Even though it does take the Disney Dining Plan one thing to remember is the ESPN Club does take ADR's, so it's first come first serve. Now I am going to assume they don't have ADR's is because of all the sporting events which happen 365 days a year and it's much easier not to have them because they won't know how many people might show up each night. Now I can say from experience that this past December my Dad and I went there three times to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs play when they were out in Western Canada, well each time we walked right in a few minutes before their games started. Two times we sat right down at their high top tables and the third time we sat right down at their bar.

We also enjoyed their food especially their Bacon Cheese Burger and their Chicken Wings. If we decide to go back there this coming August to watch any Toronto Blue Jays games one item on their menu we would like to try is their Macho Nachos.
