ESPN Weekend March 3-5, 2006

I just read that ESPN Weekend is going to be March 3-5, 2006.

Has anyone been at WDW during this weekend? My BF is a HUGE Sports fan and would have a blast at this weekend! (Plus it would help me to convince him to go on another trip to WDW!! )

Are there events that you need to sign up for/order tickets?

Any details, stories about past events, etc would be very helpful!

I'm thinking that the 1st week of March wouldn't be TOO crowded...

I have not been there for this event. Early March is usually moderate crowd wise. It seems literally every day in March gets busier as the month progresses.

We'll send this back to the top and see if anyone who's been during the ESPN weekend can give some more insight.

I went last year. We still have the info from that event here: ESPN The Weekend . That was the second one and it was very similar to the first one.

There weren't any special tickets needed. We went to the events early and had no problem seeing/doing what we wanted. The only problem was some rain, but there's not much you can do about that.

To my knowledge, you do not need seperate tickets. It's mostly a bunch of events (usually televised) occuring in or around the Disney-MGM Studios (SportsCenter, Baseball Tonight, et al). It's a great opportunity to meet various ESPN personalities as well as some athletes. There is also a special parade for the event.
