I didn't make it in time to actually play, but I observed the tail end of a football one. From what I saw guests form teams (like any of the trivia, you're not required to team up with strangers) and a CM serves as commissioner moderating teams selecting players from all across time (it's not just current players). I think you might have a salary cap to work under for your team, but I'm not positive on that. Then at the end the computer compares the teams and ranks them (not sure how) and someone wins.

It seemed pretty quiet - I expected to hear more smack talk for a sports related event. Is guess there were about 10 people playing the day I saw it.

I played the game on a recent cruise. I played the baseball version, but I suspect that the football version is similar. We were in port, so I played against the CM.

You start out with a budget of $25 million. You are given a sheet with various players at different positions and salaries. Each player picks 4 pitchers, 3 outfielders, 1 first baseman, 1 second baseman, 1 third baseman, 1 shortstop, and 1 catcher. A player gets two picks in each round, i.e., Team 1 picks 2 players, Team 2 picks 2 players, etc. You are then scored in 8 categories: HRs, RBIs, SBs, Average, Wins, ERA, Saves, and Ks. The object is to get one more stat in each category. For example, if there are two teams competing, then you want only one more SB than the other team because you will get more points in that category than the other team.

I played it (Baseball) last August on our Fantasy 7 night Eastern Caribbean Cruise. It was a lot of fun! I would definitely do it again!!! Remember to pick Babe Ruth as he was a pitcher too!
