ESPN Club - long wait times?

We were thinking of going to ESPN Club on our DHS day for dinner. I just found out they don't take ADRs. Are the wait times to eat here long? I've tried Beaches & Cream before and didn't like the long waits. We will be going in June and will be planning dinner around 5-ish.

Another other suggestions on Boardwalk that might be better where we can get an ADR? Anything except Spoodles.

We have never had a problem w/ESPN...we have usually gone earlier, though, for a late lunch. The menu is very basic, but as a whole I would say this place is overlooked, unless a big game or event is going on.

The buffet at Cape May ( at Beach Club) is very good, too.

Happy planning.

We are making our ADR plans now....was there something bad about Spoodles you can share? We are staying at the BWI and thinking about Spoodles as one of our meals. Thanks!

we really enjoyed ESPN for dinner... the night we were there it was a long wait... but the red Sox were playing the Yankees so that is probably why.... I would suggest getting there early... the men is my house REALLY liked this place

We are doing the same thing on this trip. We are planning on eating around 5-ish as well. We have gone twice in the past and both times we got in right away and this was in June and in Sept. When we went it was for a later lunch, but as long as there isn't a big game going on, then you should be fine. This is my DHs favorite restaurant and this is a must do for him each time we are there. However, now thinking about it, since we are going in a week, I may have a long wait to deal with myself due to March Madness:scared1: Oh well, he can stay in the restaurant waiting for our name to be called (as he watching the games) while the girls and I go out shopping a bit :goodvibes

We ate at Spoodles in 2007 and it was the worst meal of our vacation! We walked out of there and went directly to the corn dog stand outside to get something edible! I don't remember exactly everything we ordered since it was a few years ago, between the 5 of us we had 4 different meals (I know 2 of us ordered steaks). My DH and I are NOT picky eaters -- in fact, DH will pretty much eat just about anything. He's usually the "garbage can" in the family -- finishing up what the rest of us don't eat (and I mean that in the nicest terms!). Even he didn't finish his meal, nor did he finish anyone else's meal. DH and DD12 ordered steaks -- the texture and quality of the meat was terrible -- very rubbery/chewy. DD19 ordered a pasta dish. I think it's hard to screw up pasta, but her meal was not good -- chicken in it was fatty and rubbery. I don't remember what DS17 or I ordered, but we didn't liked our meals either. We also tried passing our dinners around to each other hoping someone would like something -- no luck! Service was also very slow! Normally that doesn't bother me too much - we were there to relax and we had plenty of time before our Illuminations cruise. But the slow service on top of terrible food cinched it for us that we will never go back to Spoodles. I know a lot of people love Spoodles -- we just had a terrible experience there.

If you are going during a major sporting event the wait can be very, very long - for instance on a Sundayu during football season - other than that the waits are manageable. I love ESPN - it's a decent place to eat especially if you like sports and sports memorabilia
