I am not positive if HHI has an open network in rooms like they do at WDW (where there is no login).
That is a specific Apple TV issue I travel a ton and never have issues connecting to hotel wifi (it can be slow though).
Roku - Built in redirect where by your phone can be used to do the web page "click to accept"
Chromecast w/ Google TV - Preinstall Puffin or another web browser prior to going to the hotel
Apple TV - Requires Hotel IT to greenlight your MAC Address
Fire TV - No easy bypass other than possibly MAC Address
Solutions if its a locked down network:
- Get a Roku Stick (I am not a huge Roku fan but have them for travel)
- Get a Google Chromecast w/ Google TV and make sure to preinstall the web browser (This is my primary streaming device in the house now but have not tried since I am not currently traveling for work otherwise it would be #1)
- Get a "travel router" which then your Apple TV connects to
Want to say I have personally used every mainstream streaming device that has been on the market. I also used to travel roughly 20-25 weeks of the year mostly for work. So I have a good amount of experience.
One further thing that I would honestly just buy and keep with the roku for travel is a universal remote to allow to change inputs on TVs where the side panel is locked down and the remote doesn't have the button (I have a small Philips one but really just looking for one that is low cost and not huge). You should not need this for HHI I doubt if its anything like WDW where the input buttons all work.
