Is there anyway to access ESPN+ through the TV at resorts? I’m going to HHI but guessing experience may be similar at other DVC resorts. Not sure if there is a way to access directly through the TV using my credentials or by connecting via Apple TV (which works at some resorts but not sure about Disney.) I want to PPV a UFC event while there through the app so trying to figure a way.

Thank you

You can connect your streaming device to the TV just like you would at home. Disney does not give you free ESPN+ or anything though.

Thanks I have my own account but wasn’t sure if I’d be able to hook up my Apple TV and connect via WiFi. Sometimes the WiFi at hotels is setup in a way you can’t connect to streaming devices.

I am not positive if HHI has an open network in rooms like they do at WDW (where there is no login).

That is a specific Apple TV issue I travel a ton and never have issues connecting to hotel wifi (it can be slow though).

Roku - Built in redirect where by your phone can be used to do the web page "click to accept"
Chromecast w/ Google TV - Preinstall Puffin or another web browser prior to going to the hotel
Apple TV - Requires Hotel IT to greenlight your MAC Address
Fire TV - No easy bypass other than possibly MAC Address

Solutions if its a locked down network:
  1. Get a Roku Stick (I am not a huge Roku fan but have them for travel)
  2. Get a Google Chromecast w/ Google TV and make sure to preinstall the web browser (This is my primary streaming device in the house now but have not tried since I am not currently traveling for work otherwise it would be #1)
  3. Get a "travel router" which then your Apple TV connects to

Want to say I have personally used every mainstream streaming device that has been on the market. I also used to travel roughly 20-25 weeks of the year mostly for work. So I have a good amount of experience.

One further thing that I would honestly just buy and keep with the roku for travel is a universal remote to allow to change inputs on TVs where the side panel is locked down and the remote doesn't have the button (I have a small Philips one but really just looking for one that is low cost and not huge). You should not need this for HHI I doubt if its anything like WDW where the input buttons all work.

Wow thanks for the detailed response. I do have one other option. Assuming I can get a decent AT&T cell signal, I could use my cell as a hotspot if the resort WiFi doesn’t connect to the device. I’m guessing there should be an open hdmi on the tv.

I don't see why you couldn't but you may have limits on your hotspot capability. The little travel routers are great I recommend them.

Can you explain the benefit of travel router? Is it that the router can pick up hotel internet (even if there’s a login requirement) and then transit to your devices? I appreciate the input.
