Esplanade Hours?

Does anyone here know how late the Esplanade (area between DCA and DL) is open, on average?

For example, if we stay at one of the Harbor Blvd hotels and have a late night in Downtown Disney (after midnight) will we still be able to walk thru the Esplanade to our hotel, or will we have to take the LONG way around via Katella?

It will be open. It's open nearly continuously. When the parks close in the evening, security pulls up shop and goes home; and then you can walk freely back and forth through the esplanade, with no bag checks. In the morning, about an hour before park opening, they clear the esplanade and staff the security check areas. Then everyone has to go through security to get back into the esplanade.
