Pig Pen,
That is the valve my Dad had a problem with. He would go in and get it stretched. It works for some people and not for others. He would have trouble again just a short time after having the procedure.
The Doctor finally had enough and my Dad had surgery. It was done through 3 very tiny incisions in his abdomen. What they did was basically create a new valve/flap to bypass the other one.
He hasn't had one single problem since the surgery! It was a great success.
By the flap malfunctioning, it let acid rise up from the stomach and this created scar tissue that decreased the size of his esophogus.
Good luck.
